Agree.... in the world of tech, you can just about scam anything.

Its kinda like our RV..... we lock everything up (all doors and a lock on our king pin). All it does is make our 5er less attractive to steal or break in over others around us parked in a storage facility. The locks arent unbreachable by a someone who really wants in, but just makes others seem like lower hanging fruit that arent. And.... it has worked, especially during COVID when lots of theft was going on - others without locks were hit around us but not ours.
Your strategy reminds me of the two guys in the forest who start running when they see a bear coming after them. One yells up to the other, " I wonder how fast he can run?"
The other guy looks back and says, "It doesn't matter, as long as I keep running faster than you ! "

While you can't make everything as secure as Fort Knox, you don't need to.
Larceny is a crime of opportunity.
Steps to make you and yours safer usually just means you make it more difficult to steal your vehicle or license information, to keep the bear from biting you, when here are plenty of easier targets.

See this pic for things that get disabled. I wouldn’t want to have these safety features off all the time.

Thanks, those 3 features don't apply to my non CP-360 Maverick. I can use the trailer port. Not worried about the features for reverse gear.

I''d put that original brake light back in service too- one can never have enough
brake lights. The light being "out" would not pass inspection here.

The lower one is nice and bright, but not always as visible, IMO.
Short statured drivers can't see it if they are close behind you.
That's a big reason I have a problem with the smaller Buick CUVs and several Hyundai/Kia models - the brake lights are down low despite there being tail lights (night lit) in the usual area. It's a silly, and IMO frankly unsafe design flaw....

Huh? You said you got the low one because the high one wasn't working...

Edit: I must have miss-understood your first post. This low strip was replacing another one, not the high mount?
Follow the link he provided in post #8, and it will all make sense to you.

Note that his "before and after" pics in his first post show the stock third brake light in the first picture, and an aftermarket LED third brake light lit up in the second picture...

No 10 dollar bulbs not on menu, I wanted LEDs and smoked lens got them for 20 dollars and a few minutes of work. Also didn’t need the replacement tailights. This is my truck think it looks real nice makes me happy and that important since I make the payments. Thanks for your opinion though!
I'm with you, I didn't need chrome wheels either, but there they are. I say please yourself.

Yes the pic with the low ones on was the old one with the 3rd light out. The new one is the one without the “strip” on sorry folks. Thats a plug in only use it on rain free days tends to short out.

Yes that’s why I don’t hook it up unless it’s nice outside. Like the safety features on!
