Hi. Anyone else have an issue with the quality of the soft cover?

Anyone from Ford wish to help?

Sad that i have to post this related to
Morrie's Minnetonka Ford
When i purchased my new Maverick, i added several accessories, 1 of which was a soft bed cover with the Ford logo. I know it was more expensive, but did not want to get involved with installation. A couple weeks after dealer install, i noticed that the cover was of inferior craftmanship. I scheduled a service appointment. Little that i knew that Saturdays were not staffed by anyone in service that had any authority. I was told to come back on Monday. I did. The 'drive" service manager took photos, and said he would seek a solution with Ford. Just heard today that it was denied as a warranty item.
So, i still have the severely defective soft cover, and starting to go up the ladder at Morrie's Minnetonka Ford.
Trying to understand WHY it takes weeks and trips to settle this. I don't have time to deal with an obvious solution. Paying over $500 for the cover and install, with a dealer cost of probably $200 seems like a battle that they would avoid. but here we are.

I pulled a cheap option for my tonneau cover. Gator Tri-Fold, put it on myself in 10 minutes max. After 2 years still looks like the day I put it on and have had zero leaking from some severe rain storms. $220 on a black Friday sale. You never know based on price.

I have the expensive hard top roll up ford cover. It’s a piece of crap. All of the glue/adhesive used melts in the NC sun. I’ve been through multiple conversations with the manufacturer and my local dealership for them to claim they can’t do anything about it.

I've had mine replaced once. Front left where it hooks into a track was pulled out and cracked. Didn't have any issue getting it replaced. Pauli Ford took some pics, sent them in and I had a new cover in a couple of weeks. Would I buy another one? No. I don't like the way the fabric bounces up and down in the wind and I assume that's what led to it's failure. It's the soft, tri-fold cover.

Bought a cheap Rough Country soft tri-fold for $229. Works fine. Keeps the snow, rain, and curious eyes out. All I need it to do.

What is defective about it?

If Ford denied it, there's not much the dealer can do.... Maybe they'd be willing to give you a discount on a different tonneau cover?

The border stitching creates puckers in the surface.. Looks like waves that cannot be stretched

I have the same one. Mine has ripples in it and puffs up quite a bit going 80mph. I'll replace it soon.

Mine is rather wavy like that too (but changes a bit depending on temperature). I just think that that is how it is made.

Agree. Have had an 8 foot bed cover from Radco, and it was totally smooth, regardless of temperature. This is crap.

I used my FP reward points to get it and installed it myself, I think it cost me $55.

Every now and then a little bit of water gets in at the tailgate and can run down the midgate of the truck but its very minor and never pools.

There is a little rippling and buffeting when driving 75+mph but that's about my only complaint.

Anyone tried putting velcro on the underside of the cover and on the crossbars to stop the rippling buffeting?
