I have noticed a design flaw in the user interface on the back-up camera if you have the back-up collision sensors. The little icon that shows you how close you are is displayed right in the middle of the view of the street in ALL situations in which the parking spots are at an angle. I cannot tell you how annoying it is to have that little icon there when I'm trying to back out of a spot downtown or at Walmart. If that icon was not in the way, I could see all the way down the street to determine if I can back out of the spot.

The only option we have for the back-up camera is to delay its turn-off. Please give us the option to move that sensor icon to the left hand side of the display or make it only visible when we are actually within range of hitting something.

@Ford Motor Company , please fix.

A bad example because I'm in the driveway. But that little truck is right in the middle of the view when in a slanted parking spot.

A pic that's actually demonstrating the issue would be useful.

I think I've experienced you're talking about but the collision distance display has to go somewhere.

If you are referring to the icon of the truck in the picture, that can be removed. . . . I found it it annoying that it blocked me seeing vehicles coming at me when backing out of a angled parking spot.
Turning it off is somewhere in 'settings', accessible from the steering wheel button or the center console, not sure which. . . . I think it is under 'driving aides' or something like that. Poke around, you will find it.
I was able to get rid the icon on our 2014 Edge as well.

Explorer has a 360 camera so it has its own issues. Also my wife's car and I'm not in the habit of driving it at all much less downtown.

Next time I'm downtown, I'll try to remember to get a picture.

I'm fine that it is there, I just want it somewhere else. Or only appear when it actually detects something. But I'll poke around the settings. I didn't see it yesterday but that may be a "me" problem.

I have a 2023 Hybrid XLT. I don't have that annoying truck blocking my picture.

He has a Lariat with Lux package. I have a Lariat base no Lux Package so I don’t have the sensors. You probably don’t either.

Every time I back into my parking spot at home the sensors go crazy. I don't mind the image of the truck though. If anything it could maybe be translucent? It's definitely the most sensitive vehicle I've owned when it comes to backing up.

I was able to get rid of it on the Maverick, but now I can't find the setting I used. . . .
On our Edge it is 'Advanced Park Aid', the alerts still go off but the icon goes away.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

Personally I like the back up camera. Dotted lines are great for hitching a trailer & red line is 1' away, yellow 3'.

Confirmed with the Explorer there is no icon on the back-up camera.. As it also has a 360 camera, it just puts the colored bars next to the vehicle icon on the 360 screen. So, the Explorer does not have this issue.

Sorry for the delay on this. Past several trips involved a parallel parking space. What you can't see: the street I'm backing into.
