I got my new '24 Maverick on Monday, and got a REALLY good deal on it by paying cash. But most of the dealerships near me are still trying to sell '24s at higher prices (equal to, or more than a new '25). I came pretty close to buying a '25, but the recall came through at the last minute. I wondered if anyone has been trying to buy a new '24 (not used) and had any luck with discount pricing. I saw that Long McArthur put up a bunch of '24s with a pretty good discount but they're 600 miles from where I live, so I tried to go local and got lucky. Ford doesn't seem to be doing any incentives, other than what they were already doing before the stop-sale ended. Is anyone still trying to buy a '24, or have you all moved on to the '25s? Before the recall came through, a lot of people speculated great deals on '24s when they were finally available. Looking at Car Gurus for nationwide pricing, it really is a crapshoot depending on where you live to get a good bargain on a '24. It seemed everybody thought Ford would be desperate to clear out the '24s, but it doesn't seem to be the case so far.

Am I understanding correctly the dealership provided lower price for cash buyer? Normal is dealer makes more money when financing and as result has more room negotiate.

I agree. My dealer was offended when I offered cash which would exclude them from their financing kickbacks.

This dealership (Schomp, in Denver) lets you pick out a vehicle on-line, and choose finance, finance with a trade, or cash, and gives you an internet quote, which they honored for me as I told them ahead of time that it would be a cash purchase. I got my '24 for about $25.5K on a cash deal (not including state taxes, licensing, etc.) That price was about $700 UNDER the base price on the window sticker ($26,170) and they threw out the destination and delivery as well from the sticker price. Sticker/MSRP was almost $28k. They don't charge any dealer fees, so other than the cash price and the required taxes, it was very reasonable. There were two other people looking at the truck I bought but were waiting on financing so they lost out. They had two other XL's for the same price (different colors) and a handful of XLTs that MSRP was around 31K, and they were selling for just under 28K. My salesman said he expected they would sell all their 24s by the end of the week.

[EDIT] It looks like Florida and Texas have some pretty good deals on EcoBoost XLs - I'm seeing just under $23k for a couple of them, and I'm seeing just under $24k for Hybrids. Like I said in my original post - if you live in the right place, or can travel to pick up your vehicle, there are some bargains out there. But if you're stuck locally, your dealership might really give you a lousy price.

I for 1, would rather have a 2024, then a 2025. On the 2025s they delated things (temp readout on knobs, door pad, etc) that I prefered.

Now that they can sell the 24s that have been on hold, I would expect the real "deals" to be dependent on next months dealer inventories. If they remain high, the incentives will come. If they're selling fast, don't expect much. Imo. 😬

2023-2024 do not have temp readout on the knobs either that was due to chip shortages and such. There are some late model 2022 that don't have it either.

The door keypad was last seen on 2023 model year as well. My 2024 Lariat was a add on. (Stick On)
