Please forgive my picking of nits but I think this is kinda cheap.

So, after spending over 30K on a Maverick and giving them my beloved 2017 E-Scape in which they made a goodly basket of green on resale within a week. They decided to send me an invitation to a customer appreciation event.

"Come Eat Some FREE Burgers & Hot Dogs!
Join us for a Customer Appreciation Cookout at all 6 of our Ohio locations on Saturday, July 20th from 12pm to 2pm (or until we run out)! Let’s celebrate YOU, our fantastic customers, with delicious food and good times.
Enter to WIN 2 exclusive Post Malone tickets to his nation-wide F-1 Trillion Tour! Thank you to our friends at Loud 102.3 for providing such a special giveaway* prize. Needless to say, I didn't bite and rush cross town the 20 miles to get my free hot dog.
Maybe if it were a med. rare T-bone.

Do you expect a dealer to lose money on your trade in??? Dealers are businesses, their goal is to make money... You aren't forced to trade your old vehicle in. You could have sold it on your own if you thought you could make more than what they offered you at trade in. Yeah driving driving 20 miles for some free hotdogs and burgers probably isn't worth it to most people. For their customers that live or work closer why not come in for a free meal??

No, not at all. I actually praised the salesman after i found out how quick that my car was sold by them. I also understand that this is their means to bring in potential customers and that some people consider a hot dog to be a culinary treat but I've had better come-ons from the girls on 7th Avenue....or in my specific case, New Castle, Pa.

I got ONE pen and ONE cup koozy and ONE sippy cup. $36,000 well spent.
Hmm... no key dealer fob and license plate frame? I could have used that sippy cup or maybe a nice cup holder like this one.

Ford Maverick Dealers......sheesh!!! tape 2

I mean, they didn't have to offer you a hot dog. No hot dog is cheaper than one hot dog.

They put together and event for the community and likely for the workforce too.

Whatever. This post has the entitled "Do you know how important of a customer I am" vibes. They don't owe you anything for buying a vehicle from them. Mark it as spam and move on.

You know I always have heard you can't make every customer happy. I understand that being 20 miles away prohibits you from going. That being said I would not diss the dealership for your residence being so far away. First many dealerships do not offer a appreciation day of free food, drinks and a give away, (unless they are trying to drum up new business) Secondly would it have been better if they didn't pay for the post card/letter and postage, and didn't tell you or invite you? How would you have felt if they didn't include you in the celebration of appreciation day?

I think you should sit back and look at it in a different way. I don't think it should be considered negative but in a positive way, even though you are not planning to attend. Then again that's just my opinion.

Appreciated and respected.

My issues isn't with distance. It's more with the deceitful ways that they care to do business. I've bought at least 5 vehicles from this particular so I'm pretty familiar with the way that they used to do business. This time, they were a bit more tight with the deal and a bit more pushy with the 'extras at the end of the contracts' push. One of the vehicle deals, back when I bought the 2003 Escape, the salesman added the $1K Ford incentive to the contract two times by mistake, called up and begged me to come in and make the change. It could have been taken to court as fraud to gain the deal and I'd certainly have won. So, I did attend their hot dog event and entered a raffle for a cheap portable TV/VHS combo and low and behold I won. No, I really don't think that was coincidence. I've also had bad deals on trade-ins regularly although this time it wasn't so bad. So, my gut feelings about visiting dealerships is slightly above that of visiting dentists and Phlebotomists.

BTW: The message came to me in an Email. I had to connect with the salesman via email because I paid for an extended electrical system warranty and they hadn't given me any paperwork about what I had paid for at the point of contract. So, I get their ads in my spam basket every week or less. :)

P.S. Don't make too much out of my mini rant.. It's meant as fun. I appreciate having a dealer that can actually fix my car's ills and that I can have a good deal with. My dealer(s) aren't bad. Just trying to make a buck.

I got nothing. No pen. No dealer decal (happy about that). No key fob. Not even a license plate frame like they put on the last car I bought from them. I was actually Surprised.

The real measure of a business is whether they are honest and trustworthy.
So, I bought this 2022 vehicle on 4/9/23 and have been trying to find out about Ford Pass points.
I've spent about 2 hours in the queue for their chat box and every time, I get disconnected when it's my turn. I called them this morning and after trying to discover why I didn't get any Ford Pass points, it was because they say that my vehicle wasn't certified pre-owned. So, I called my salesman and he said that they don't certify any pre-owned vehicles at their dealership.
I sent him this link that shows that they are advertising "Certified Pre-Owned" vehicles and basically asked him if he was being honest. He said that those vehicles aren't "Ford Certified" but that they are Certified by the specific dealer.
I suspect that it was because the vehicle hadn't gone through the certification inspection process and that they had a fish on the line.
We'll see what happens.

My father was fond of quipping "You want to cry? I'll give you something to cry about."
My dad would say such things as well. I took it as a threat .... for good reason.
