Please cite the advertisement that OP's dealership produced, and the definition of "advertisement" that describes it as such.
Good point, you folks are correct. My situations involved public advertisements. I would assume this would still fall under something like the Texas deceptive trade practices act that would warrant a complaint. Would be interested in learning more from anyone - no doubt I (and many others) will find themselves in these situations again! http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/Docs/BC/htm/BC.17.htm

Not required to honor from the outset seems different than acknowledging but reneging after the customer was led to believe the x-plan was accepted for the Maverick all year. Law or not, it's unethical, wrong, plain sleazy and worthy of raising a ruckus about. Let the letter go out to a state AG, get "Channel 7 on your side" out there or whatever else you can do on socials etc and put the dealer behavior out in the light of day.

Dealer agreed to honor X Plan Pricing after going in to talk about it.

I don't think I acted like a "Karen," but I just tried to highlight that they've messed up my order/blown me off like 6 times so far and their old salesman had (In writing) told me it was eligible for X Plan which was why I picked this dealership. I probably sounded like a Goober, since I'm not really a confrontational guy, but whatever.

They gave me a handshake on it and said they'd do it. It's not in writing, but I mean I literally have a text from their salesman about it so if that isn't the definition of in writing I don't know what is.

Overall - I'm really happy how it turned out. I'm a dumb kid relative to some of the more experienced people here and despite the order screw up snaffoos, the guy that shook my hand has always done a fantastic job of fixing the old salesman's mistakes. I think it was the sales manager, I'm not sure.

I get that it's just a truck or whatever, but idk man people's words mean things.
Very happy how it turned out and I'm glad they're a good dealership.

Might not even get scheduled since it's a goddamn optioned up Lariat Lux, but hey fingers crossed

In person just works sometimes. Glad it worked out, and they did the right thing.

Good for you. I just purchased on X-Plan a few days ago and it was awesome. No haggling, no markups, no BS - just the price, tax, and limited fees. It was awesome. They also honored the 0% interest for 36 months from when i ordered. I've never had a better experience at a dealer...
