Dead Radio

Have a '22 XLT hybrid, 11k miles. Have had zero problems with the truck since I purchased it new in May of last year. Went to pick up some sandwiches this evening, radio playing, shut off truck. Came back out, turned truck on, no radio. Thought maybe I had hit the mute button, but not. Tried taping the "audio" button on the screen, but nothing. Got home, turned the truck off, waited a few minutes, turned it back on, same thing, no radio.
Any thoughts as to what the problem is. I'm 79 years old and not too tech savvy !!

hold down the power button and next track button for a few seconds to reboot it.

Magic! went out and started the truck this morning prepared to do the reboot, started it up, and the radio came on just like normal! Didn't do a thing to it!

New vehicles are rolling computer networks, and the Maverick is no different. Everything from the radio to the HVAC to the pedestrian warning system (sound effects) all rely on the medium and high-speed CAN buses (Controller Area Network). If you check out the YouTube video from FordTechMakuloco on the $5600 F-150 tail light repair, it will give you some awareness of the system's Achilles heel. The lesson is that it can be very difficult to locate some of these goofy faults. I hope we're saving lots of money on point-to-point copper wiring...

Am a young guy only 72 and had the same problem on my 22 xlt at least weekly, most of the time you shut the vehicle off and it starts working again, was on a trip using the nav on my plugged in phone and the radio locked up, called my dealer they said to disconnect the battery Sure am going to pull over on the highway and disconnect my battery? I got to my destination and checked every 15/20 mins the radio stated working after about a hour or so. Got home and went back to dealer they updated the system took a hour or so and has been ok since, their is a fix.
