I have a 2023 Lariat Hybrid. At approximately 5,000 or 6,000 miles a rattle started in the dash area around the defroster vent on the drivers side. If I hold my fingers on it and pull in it quits. Has anyone come up with an easy fix to this frustrating noise? I know if it goes to a dealer and they take the dash off it could create more issues.

Squish some felt in there?

Suggestion, but it is a route people have taken to silence the noise they got from the window switch rattle in the door.

I echo Mr. Pibb. I don't have this issue but those that have, have put a small piece of felt in the area.

Enough people have used it as a solution successfully I would say it is worth the shot.

Another example use is when upgrading the front tweeters. The last time I looked all of the options on the market required some cutting to get them to fit. Afterwards, using some felt mitigates any potential rattles the upgrade may cause.

It's a non-permanent option as well.

Good luck finding a dealer willing to take the dash off for a squeak.

I used a strip of house screen rubber wedged between. Pillar and dash. Worked great.

Thanks…. I’ll give that a try. Not out anything if it doesn’t work. I’ll just turn the radio up a bit more.

Is this the noise you're referring to? I'm also looking for a fix for this. I took mine to the dealer, they added a felt adhesive strip in the defroster vent. Still making the noise though.

Same noise on my 2022 Lariat, though I've beat the crap out of mine off-road so I assumed it was because of that. Apparently not.

Have not found a solution. Wonder if it's because there's a bolt that's not snugged down towards the windshield right under the plastic and it's rubbing.

Definitely not from beating it up. I've been super gentle with mine, but this still started up around 3k miles. 2023 XLT. I'm trying to find someone who has actually managed to resolve the issue so I can give some more specific instructions to my dealer.

Same noise as my 2023 Hybrid Lariat has. Seems to be only on the drivers side. I’ve wedged different things between dash and defroster vent and nothing seems to change anything. Noise continues to be frustrating so I turn the radio up so I don’t hear it.
Dealership has no clue what it is or how to fix it.

Hi there. This dash noise concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your Maverick. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end. To send a private message, just click on our username and select "Start Conversation".
