I plan to make a black ABS plastic insert to mount phone on. When time permits I really want to remove the touch screen and see if it can be centered. Making a new bezel is not an issue.

What I'd REALLY like to see is someone create a bezel and mount plus the needed connectors to put a much larger and brighter touch screen next to the cubby. Maybe from the Mustang ME or escape? I guess this should be another thread???

Oh, followed your Amazon link and that phone holder looks like it would work nicely. Looks like you could set the holder back into the cubby far enough that only the magnetic disc is visible to line up the phone to cover the rest of the cubby. Thanks for the research.

Someone in the Interior Modification forum found a mount on Amazon that looks to fit very well in the cubby. It's a little different than the two I was thinking of getting but this one in the Interior forum has actually been used by someone in that cubby and they included pictures.
