CV Axels. Second time replaced

I had the CV Axels replaced on my 2022 Ford Maverick XL at 22000 miles. They are now replacing them again at 47000 miles. Will they cover this again under warranty? I do have an extended warranty.

Also, are there new improved axels, as they replace the axels the first time with the original axels.

Ford usually warranties repairs, but typically not forever. Except my major brake job on an old Ranger was the life of the vehicle. I think it's usually 12 months or 12,000 miles for Ford parts.

You might ask your service advisor if Ford offers a Customer Satisfaction Program repair for this, as it's been a recurring problem with the early hybrid fleet. These programs are not advertised like recalls. But they often exist.

There were revised axles made for the Hybrid model that became available in the fall of 2024. They have a different part number, and look slightly larger around.

As to coverage, 2022 Mavericks built between December 2021 and November 2022 have an extended warranty from Ford for 10 years or 150k miles (whichever comes first). Go to the Ford recall by VIN page, type in your VIN and see if you have this coverage.

Axles on my 2024 Maverick Hybrid went out at 34,000 miles. One Ford Dealer could not find issue, another did. Do not trust one Dealer!! I complained to Ford on their customer service website and Ford paid fee. Recommend all Maverick owners have axles inspected routinely.

The notes for the customer satisfaction program say it was due to a manufacturing issue. There are over 1 million hybrids on the road, across brands, and CV axle failure is not a common problem. It's a 22-24 Hybrid Maverick problem.

No. Just bad design. But since Nov 2024, Ford replaced the CV Axles with newer design and seem like that resolved the issue as I haven't seen those with the new CV axles saying anything about failure.

I am at 25k on my 2023 Hybrid now and starting to feel the shake/wobble on take off going from 0-35mph.. once I hit 40mph+, wobble/shake no longer happens. Looks like I will take my Maverick in for the dealer to replace them in the next 10k miles...

That sounds different from what most of us here have experienced. The shake for the CV was typically between 45-60MPH, maybe you have something else going on?
