I think customer service hours are Monday-Friday: 8:00am-8:00pm EST so maybe you just didn't wait long enough?

Also don't hold your breath on getting email updates once you give Fords customer service your info. I've been saying this for weeks but it's up to your dealer to provide the proper contact info NOT Ford customer service.

Thank you for the info.... 45 mins is long enough on hold for me

Will Ford Customer service change an email address for me ? seems like the one they have isnt working even though i get everyone else emails on it?

You're welcome! Glad I could give you a little more info.

Here's the reason Ford Customer Service won't be able to tie your email address to your build and why it's up to the dealer to do so.

Ford customer service is an extension of their marketing arm. Ford marketing is completely different than Fords manufacturing/order arm. Those two don't talk to each other. Should they? Yes. Do they? No.....sigh.

Your dealer has access to Fords ordering system. AKA the ROVP as we all know it now. With in that system your dealer has the option to enter your email address. If they do it then BOOM you get confirmation emails, scheduling emails, shipped emails, ect.

If they don't you get left out in the cold but here's the thing. Fords customer service department aka marketing department cant alter that info. They can add your email to a marketing list but beyond that they can do nothing else.

Dont even bother! Just have your dealer handle it if they even will. I get more info off here then from ford. All dealer does is make up excuses or out right lies and ford says nothing at all. Welcome to the new world costumer service is gone to never return.

Comedy gold, that. Ford rep on the phone confirmed they have my correct e-mail address in their system. And have received nada from them since the initial reservation was made.

As for prying info from the one and only local dealer, well, a root canal is a more amenable experience. "We don't give out an order number or a dealer number." Only got that data after calling Ford myself.

I spent hours with Ford's Customer Service folks back in August trying to confirm whether my email address was attached the order and every rep I talked to said the same thing: "We have no visibility to that and can neither confirm nor deny what email addresses/customers names are attached to any orders."

So, at least is it sounds like the Ford reps are getting better at their jobs. 🤷‍♂️

And I've told you this before you just refuse to listen. YOUR dealer messed up either intentionally or on purpose to keep you out of the loop. Just because you don't believe it doesn't make it true....

So, if you believe this was an intentional move by the dealer, how do you explain all the Ford reps that have told forum members that it's "a known issue that Ford often doesn't send out notifications even when the email address is provided?"

Is this some grand conspiracy which Ford Customer Service is in on? If so, exactly what is Ford getting out of lying to the consumer for the dealer?

Also, assuming it's not jsut a typo, what is the difference between "intentionally" and "on purpose"?

Wow.

My dealer must be pretty darned powerful to be able to squelch e-mails being sent to dozens (or hundreds) of others who did not order through them too.

Thank you for that. Via phone from Ford I have a dealer code, an order number and a priority rating, so feel as secure as one can in this situation.
