Could be several things. Light on throttle is imperative. (Edit to add: light on throttle is more like max desired throttle without being enough to force ICE to come on!). If you push throttle over 1/3 (guessing maybe 1/2?) You are asking computer to start ice. Just push far enough to get electric motor to move truck. Ice will come on when SOC of HVB gets down to about 30%, maybe in 20 feet maybe in 1 mile or so. Or until you ask for more acceleration above some amount. If you have AC on max, the ice will be on and milage will drop. MPG will drop as ambient temp gets over 95°. At over 111°F mpg will drop. Driving into 25mph head wind at 75mph with ambient temp 105+°F AC on automatic at 73°F my mpg will be 30-31 mpg. Rough guess AC on in automatic will be 3-6mpg less. Think of breaking in as driving enough for computer to learn how to balance actions to your style of driving. So if you drastically adjust your style it may take several tanks of gas to totally adjust to your new style. As a driving style check find a curvy up/down 40-45 mph road put in cruise and watch power gage (and road!). In 20 miles or so your mpg on trip should be good (around 50mpg?) but any one trip is more or less meaningless.I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but 29-30 is all I’m getting so far . I’m thinking just not broken I yet. I picked it up in May but I only have 1300 DRIVEN miles on it. I have a lot more towed miles on it . Time will tell.![]()
