Cruise control does not use the brakes. The only things it can do is reduce fuel to the engine and downshift the transmission.

FWIW, I think my Maverick allows entirely too much downhill acceleration before downshifting, and doesn't downshift enough - but the system does react, and I assume it is normal.
Mine brakes and holds my set speed when I go down hill with cruise control active.
Rpm’s don’t climb, no downshifts unless the grade is really steep.
So,
Mine uses the brakes. I can even feel a forward weight shift as is normal when braking.
Maybe it’s a Lariat thing I don’t know.

I'm sure that if you can explain how to stop this using only the accelerator pedal, I'm sure that ford will be all ears.

it's "cruise control", which is only control of the throttle. ACC uses more systems.
I just want some help. Why the shitty attitude?

As stated in earlier posts, ACC and CP360 may indeed use the brakes. Your Lariat has at least one of those systems. Regular cruise control does not use the brakes.

I don't really notice this. It will use engine braking as much as it can before downshifting. If I am going downhill and have it set at 75, it'll usually start attempting to slow down once it hits 77.
