Crazy radio changes sources

I have a 24 hybrid XLT Maverick and I was wondering if anybody else has a problem like this. Just about every time that I turn the Maverick off and then I come back get back in it, the radio changes my source I usually have it on the USB but when I come back it's either on a.m. or FM radio. Now my 2019 escape that had serious would do it occasionally but this does it almost every time. I'm just wondering if there's a fix for this.

Do you have your phone plugged into the usb source before you turn the key on and/or are disconnecting your phone before you turn the key off? I’ve noticed if I disconnect from usb/bluetooth it will automatically switch the audio source to fm radio

If I use my phone my radio turns off every time I turn the truck off. Even if the radio is on, then plug in my phone, then turn truck off...radio off when I turn it back on.

The concept of a basic radio and use CarPlay or Android auto is great, but the radio has soooo many problems. Nothing works right. I had to force restart 3 times today to get CarPlay to load.

The only thing I have plugged into the USB drive is a memory stick that has music on it.... I don't have my phone attached to it just the memory stick. On the trips today I stopped three times and two out of three times it moved away from the USB drive to FM station

My 24, is doing the same thing and it takes my preset back to just two and I have to reset it back to the max of six. I did the reset, but no help.

Hey Gents,
This was happening to me too. I did a few things all at once so I don't really know what fixed it but it's definitely fixed. I have SYNC 3 and I ended up downloading the software update online. Also, After I completed the SYNC 3 update I uploaded the XML file to Ford so they could update my VIN number. After it was complete I also Deleted the Apple CarPlay from my phone and Cleared the Bluetooth settings from my phone and then my car. After setting everything back up again it's actually fixed and has been holding the same station for a few weeks now. I do not have a satellite radio subscription but I keep mine on station 0 because it's dead air and completely silent. It has been holding that station for a while now.

Also, I don't know much about how ford does updates but once I updated to version 3.4 build 3.4.23188 I assumed that was the newest update. However I still connected the truck to my wifi and It discovered another update the next day when I checked for updates. This update was able to download wirelessly and after turning off the car and back on again I got the message saying that my truck was updated successfully. My software version a build stayed the same but something did update.

Same thing here. But not every time. It's prettty random. Don't know of a fix.

Thanks. This is kind of low on my list of things I need to do this week. But I'll try it one of these days!

I have a 2022 XLT Hybrid (so no SYNC 3) and I have only recently noticed this problem but that is probably because I got tired of hearing Christmas music a week or two BEFORE Thanksgiving. I thus started using my USB stick to listen to my music collection. If I am making several stops during the day it seems to stay on USB music. If I park it for the night and start up the next morning it reverts back to FM radio and I have to re-select USB audio. Hope someone comes up with a solution

I have experienced the fault to FM a couple of times. I discovered that I some how bumped the USB stick when exiting. I have not discovered how I managed to do that, but at my age, I don't need a reason. I reset the Stick and it's read to go again. I also magically lock the driver's door with the side of my hand when opening the door, and occasionally lock all the doors with my finger when exiting. I am very talented.
