Cost for extra key at ford dealership

Well,im biting the bullet on the the spare key and going to dealer for a spare key,key fob and program it.200$ for everything.they said ford didnt make a spare key seup withut a key fob

I bought my 3-Btn Center-Mill Flip Key (315 MHZ; L,U,P) Ford #164-R8269; StratTec #5939651 from NorthCoastKeyless.com for $80 back in 2023. Another $35 to get it cut by local locksmith who had to update the software in his equipment. Programmed it into the truck myself using both OEM keys. $200 for dealer sounds like a bargain. Be sure they don't sell you a side-mill key by accident. They are "almost" identical to the center-mill one except for the shape of the tip.

I bought this key and had a guy come out and cut / program the key in my driveway for $50.

It says it doesn't work with a Mav but it does.

I had a third key set made for around $20. Their is a web link mentioned somewhere in this group to an eBay site. You do have to have both original keys to complete the programming of the new third one when you receive it, however. It's has work fine for me and I use it as an occasional spare

Redneck Garage's how-to worked perfectly for our '23 XLT. We now have 1 additional fob key and 1 key-only for a total of 4, got the keys cut by a local locksmith, then programmed them myself in the truck.
