Then he needs a Trans Am, not a Maverick  . Or maybe just put the flaming Phoenix decal on the hood
IDK if that model even performs as well as the hybrid, it was notoriously slower than the actual police models used in the film. Also does about 250 miles to the tank at highway speed if you milk it. So arrives loses 10 mins every 500 miles to either Mav I think.

The passenger seat fully reclined and all the way back is comfortable enough to stretch out & sleep for a night. Would need a bed the next night though. The folks that live in their cars are much tougher than me.
The body is saying hard no to reclining the seat back these days, especially with that weird hump in the front of the seat, but at 5' 6", I don't have too much trouble with the back seat, being as close to flat as a seat could be made in this day and age.

I haven't measured teh Mav, but regular pickup drivers have to put in special cutouts in the doors to fit if they want to log Sleeper Berth.I guess you'd just be Off Duty.

I'd take both the front passenger and rear seat out. Use the right side for a cot/mattress for those times you need to sleep or rest, and keep the cooler behind the driver's seat.
I was thinking of this exact thing for solo trips. Easier than a tent; since the Mav is poorly designed to not have a 6' bed. I had done this with Tacomas a few times when hauling stuff cross country (the bed was full).

I already made a rear seat delete platform for the rear of the Mav, and it would be simple to add a leg to take the place of the removed passenger seat.

"Doesn't suit your wishes" ≠ "poorly designed". I'm 100% happy with the short bed, it hauls everything I need while fitting better in my garage. To me it's a GREAT design. YMMV ...

It would fit in your garage with a 6' bed and no rear seats.
The lack of a bed long enough to use for a camper is a big face palm to me, but is probably perfectly fine for most buyers.
Like a lot of owners, I've done the "rear seat delete" and added a platform to hold tools and cargo in place of the back seat. The old Toyota "extracab" design with just a cubby behind the front seats that COULD be used for passengers if needed, yet also having a 6' bed, AND being overall shorter than the Maverick seemed to be the slipper that fit this Cinderella's foot. Do all that with the Mav hybrid AWD drivetrain and...

I wonder why Toyota isn't still making them if they were so wonderful. Perhaps they weren't profitable. There are a couple trucks out there that have a 6-ft bed.

Whatt??? Poorly designed to not have a 6' bed. That is the ENTIRE REASON for the Mav. To be little truck...with 4 doors/seats...and a little bed. That is the magic formula. Not saying people wouldn't but it if a longer bed was available...but come on...the Mav is "THE MAV" for exactly what it is.:clap::clap:

I remembered a vehicle I wanted to get shortly after I came of age: the short-lived Subaru Baja. Looking at some videos on YouTube, I discovered it had a pass through from the even shorter 41.5” bed into the rear seat area. It was too small for a standard sheet of ply or dry, but if Ford had done that, with say, at least 50” of width, that probably would have been a killer feature for both haulers and sleepers.

I have prepared a diagram to illustrate the situation...
