If you want a maverick now look at carvana as they have them BUT be ready to pay at least 10K over msrp sometimes 20K more . I read your original post and started laughing. He thinks he can get one for a few grand over msrp off the lot. . lol.

If your just getting into the Maverick gig, prepare to be disappointed quite a bit. Almost all dealers will show vehicles already sold. Someone said it does it automatically, who knows. Try other dealers and get on some call lists. LM have some regularly on Facebook but you will be paying $5000-$7500 ADM if you really want them.
Yeah, not 100% set on the Maverick yet, could look at SUVs as well, and am looking into a Chevy 2dr (though it's fuel efficiency won't come close, it would probably be better in animal collisions and it's definitely on the lot.)

If I do decide to go with the Maverick it will probably be a factory order, and one of the dealerships has an honest website. They claimed over the phone that they could factory orders in 4-6 months. Could drive the Avenger till then, then keep it as a spare.

Annoying enough to get me swearing at the cashier on the phone and ruling out buying anything from that dealership ever.

I have way too little time for people to be wasting it.
Basically all manufacturers/dealers do this. I found out the hard way when my teenage son totaled my wife's car a few months back. I ended up buying a used car and currently have an order in for a Maverick Tremor.

The second the ladies in the back enter the info after the truck drops off a vehicle, it pops up on the website. The office workers don't know that it's been pre-sold, since the deal folder is on the sales managers desk somewhere. Very common at most dealerships.

The dealer told you you will be able to order a Maverick in 4 to 6 months. Humm I wonder if that is true. Ford would have to reopen the order banks, I hope that is true as it means I will get my ordered 2023 Maverick. I wonder if they really know that or just guessing.

And I'll shop at the ones that have a better system that doesn't do that. :p even if that system is: "We don't list what new vehicles we have in stock online." Lol

After reading a whole bunch of posts that mostly detoured into available inventory, I did skip ahead so my comments may repeat comments already posted or possibly even contradict some.

If you choose to go with a Maverick, I think you'll be best served with an AWD Ecoboost. The dirt roads and fields during periods of rain or melting seasons will challenge FWD. AWD with good all-terrain tires are likely to be your best option.

I've had mine since last October (it was a refused order I purchased off the dealer lot). I'm at 6K miles now (so well short of the mileage you're anticipating) and I've had no issues other than the fuel tank recall and now the airbag recall. For a long daily commute, it's a smooth riding, comfortable truck that should deliver high 20's to low 30's MPG if there's a good amount of open road in the mix.

I've been seeing a bunch of people lately advertising their Mavericks for sale, apparently to cash in on the limited availability, so you shouldn't have to wait for a dealer unit to show up if you're willing to widen your search area. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
