Looks like what we were both missing is that Canadian SCs start at the Preferred trim and only come with the turbo'd engine and AWD. We don't even have the option of buying the cheap underpowered FWD one the Yanks can get.
Those prices are in Canadian dollars, and from the Hyundai and Ford websites, though I've been into a Hyundai dealership twice in the last two weeks and mentioned to the sales guy how much I like the look of the Santa Cruz, but it's too rich for my blood, he didn't contradict me or try to upsell me.
The Santa Cruz starts at $42,000 MSRP, the Maverick at $30,000...
Hyundai is winning me over for my next vehicle over a Maverick, but not with the SC, with the Kona, at $25,000 with AWD.

If I do decide to go with the Maverick it will probably be a...
Sure! I just figured it had been answered when I said that the dealership was lying on their website and they didn't actually have the truck in stock, nor arriving soon when I called them.
$35,000 was what they were advertising their non existent Mavericks at publicly (with XLT trim, or some...
Annoying enough to get me swearing at the cashier on the phone and ruling out buying anything from that dealership ever.
I have way too little time for people to be wasting it.
Meh, the mark ups aren't that much over MSRP, like, $31,000 ish built the way I want on the Ford website, $35,000 at the dealership.
If I try to milk another year out of the Avenger I run more risks of being out of a car entirely, and having to sell it as scrap/parts, whereas if I sell it now...
Hi folks; I'm a prospective new buyer of a Maverick. Wanted to get your advice before pulling the trigger.
Bit about me:
I've been driving 4 door sedans since my first car (Mazda 3, now Dodge Avenger) I recently left the army and started working on a farm, I have a 55km commute, about 5 km...
