  1. Maverick sales more than doubled Santa Cruz in 2022

Looks like what we were both missing is that Canadian SCs start at the Preferred trim and only come with the turbo'd engine and AWD. We don't even have the option of buying the cheap underpowered FWD one the Yanks can get.
  2. Maverick sales more than doubled Santa Cruz in 2022

Looking at the US website, yeah, starting at $25,000. WTF is Hyundai selling them for so much more here?
  3. Maverick sales more than doubled Santa Cruz in 2022

Those prices are in Canadian dollars, and from the Hyundai and Ford websites, though I've been into a Hyundai dealership twice in the last two weeks and mentioned to the sales guy how much I like the look of the Santa Cruz, but it's too rich for my blood, he didn't contradict me or try to upsell me.
  4. Maverick sales more than doubled Santa Cruz in 2022

The Santa Cruz starts at $42,000 MSRP, the Maverick at $30,000... Hyundai is winning me over for my next vehicle over a Maverick, but not with the SC, with the Kona, at $25,000 with AWD.

  7. Considering the Maverick for my next vehicle, advice wanted.

I don't really care how And I'll shop at the ones that have a better system that doesn't do that. :P even if that system is: "We don't list what new vehicles we have in stock online." Lol
  8. Considering the Maverick for my next vehicle, advice wanted.

Yeah, not 100% set on the Maverick yet, could look at SUVs as well, and am looking into a Chevy 2dr (though it's fuel efficiency won't come close, it would probably be better in animal collisions and it's definitely on the lot.) If I do decide to go with the Maverick it will probably be a...
  9. Considering the Maverick for my next vehicle, advice wanted.

I'm not used to people (who aren't politicians!) lying to me! Sorry. :P
  10. Considering the Maverick for my next vehicle, advice wanted.

Ford.ca vs dealership website, I work all the hours the dealership is open.
  11. Considering the Maverick for my next vehicle, advice wanted.

Sure! I just figured it had been answered when I said that the dealership was lying on their website and they didn't actually have the truck in stock, nor arriving soon when I called them. $35,000 was what they were advertising their non existent Mavericks at publicly (with XLT trim, or some...
  12. Considering the Maverick for my next vehicle, advice wanted.

Annoying enough to get me swearing at the cashier on the phone and ruling out buying anything from that dealership ever. I have way too little time for people to be wasting it.
  13. Considering the Maverick for my next vehicle, advice wanted.

Disregard what I said about them having them is stock; they just lie on their websites to waste my time apparently.
  14. Considering the Maverick for my next vehicle, advice wanted.

Meh, the mark ups aren't that much over MSRP, like, $31,000 ish built the way I want on the Ford website, $35,000 at the dealership. If I try to milk another year out of the Avenger I run more risks of being out of a car entirely, and having to sell it as scrap/parts, whereas if I sell it now...
  15. Considering the Maverick for my next vehicle, advice wanted.

Well, the dealerships around here have a handful of both models on the lot? Though with some options I don't need.
  16. Considering the Maverick for my next vehicle, advice wanted.

Hi folks; I'm a prospective new buyer of a Maverick. Wanted to get your advice before pulling the trigger. Bit about me: I've been driving 4 door sedans since my first car (Mazda 3, now Dodge Avenger) I recently left the army and started working on a farm, I have a 55km commute, about 5 km...
