I am thinking about adding a hood scoop and rear spoiler that are attached with 3m tape. Questions for the group
1. Does it hold?
2. Does it hold if I use a car wash?
3. How difficult is it to remove if I want to take it off at a later date?
4. Does it damage the paint?
Thanks for your input.

If you've ever owned a vehicle with body side molding, it's attached with 3M tape. Does it hold up, seems to for most people, if the install area is prepped properly.

To remove use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat up the glue, then use fishing line or something else that won't damage the paint to remove it.

I used 3M tape to reattach my old Mini's side markers when the plastic tabs broke. 4 years later I traded the car in and they never came loose. The tape held up to Wisconsin winters and more car washes than I care to count.

I have the hood scoop from Ford and it comes with a VERY strong adhesive that you apply w/ a caulk gun so it's not just the tape holding it on

WE had the fender flares attached that way, ran into trouble with it adhering well in a few spots, probably due to the ceramic coat we had applied. A bit of abrasion with a magic eraser and good cleaning with alcohol fixed it.

So what I’m hearing is you better make sure that’s an accessory that you wanna add it. It’s difficult to take it off.

Probably polyurethane - that stuff is wicked strong.
