I literally do that almost every time I work on a car. Alot of times its the only way to get a tool in the place. A straight ratchet or breaker bar may not fit in the area and you have to do that. Can also be combined with stubby wrenches. I also use pipe over wrenches aswell. I have been known to shave down wrench ends, slot boxed end ones, heat and bend wrenches. I also use socket extensions to drive out bolts, and deep sockets with extensions to bend bolts or threaded rod to my whims.

I never knew. I try to fix things as much as possible but my mind is that of a sales guy, not an engineer. I go from A-D without stopping at B and C to get directions to D. Sometimes I get lost.

If you've done this you've also skinned the hell out of your knuckles when it inevitably slipped and yelled enough expletives to fill a giant pickle jar with cash.

You have to move on one plane and one plane only... You can exert a fair amount of force and benefit from the extra leverage.... but man no tipping the wrench... move on one plane only...

Easier said than done when the whole reason you're typically doing this is because the bolt you're trying to get to is tucked away in some horribly inaccessible spot thanks to some jerk of an engineer (I'm an engineer).

My brother is an engineer. He had the same feeling. He worked on rader components for Martin Marietta. He had to design the upgrades in the 737 radar systems, but it still had to fit in the same space as they are modular. He also said that the writer of Dilbert had cameras in his work space. But I digress.

No arguement there.... moving a wrench with a wrench is not for the faint of heart. LOL.
