Question, I recently stored my 23 hybrid Maverick, I connected a battery tender to the red post under the hood and connected the black post to the body frame, after a month of Storage I recently opened the door to obtain some keys that I had left in the vehicle and noticed when the door opened no interior lights came on , I am aware via the app that the remote functions shut down when the vehicle isn’t driven for a while however I was unaware that everything shut off , is this normal? Does the vehicle completely shut down while in storage connected to a battery tender thanks in advance. Much appreciated.

My battery tender has to be connected to both posts of the battery. That is what my directions stated.

Shouldn't make a difference, unless negative cable was not to a grounded part of the frame, etc. I always connect both to battery since finding a ground location is not always reliable.

The posts under the hood are the ones to use. Did you connect the black tender wire to the jump post or somewhere else that may not have gotten a good enough ground?
I put my noco g5 on yesterday about 10 am. Just got truck back from body shop after 5 weeks it has 3 months old BXT99RT4A MAX series battery. When started battery was at 12.0 volts so pretty low. At 24 hours the maintainer has battery at 100% and is still running optimization/sulfate routines. May take quite a while as this is first time the battery has seen the noco.

Thanks for the info. I think I attached everything correctly, and I believe the remote function stops while in storage …. I’m gonna check with my dealer to see if everything shuts down while in storage including the remote function. Thanks again.

The BMS is designed to automatically put the battery in deep sleep mode after around 2 weeks of not using the vehicle. It may do this egardless of SoC.

Not sure if having a battery tender connected would affect this or not.

Mine went to sleep for the first time after one week just a short while ago. Seems the SOC might come in to play since I have had it go a week without driving several times before with no issue. Im still on the stock battery after 1.5 years of use.

That's just ford marketing spinning to cover up a horrific situation.

Hidden cameras have found that by the end of the first week, the poor lonely things start sniffling. Another couple of days, they cry and paw at the door. Eventually, the abandoned trucklet gives up hope, and falls into depression depression, and no longer responds to stimuli, which is mistaken for deep sleep.

Some features do turn off after a set number of days, even if the 12v charge level isn't low, which will cause the overhead lamps to not illuminate until there's been a drive/ignition on cycle. - I believe the timer might be around 5 days, however I'm going from memory. Mine sat for 9-10 days in September, and the AGM kept the battery well above 80%, remote features still appeared in Ford-Pass while in Hawaii, however the dome lights didn't illuminate until after an ignition/drive cycle. (I have a BT battery monitor connected since I received the first few deep-sleeps before changing the 12v to an AGM).

Left my 2024 Lariat EB in Northern Maine for 5 days of zero and below temps. Was very surprised that when I opened the door to start (left keys in truck), no interior lights came on. Did not think that the lights would be shutting down on the EB's, thought it was just a hybrid thing.. Started right up with the remote.

You are right, besides this from Ford regarding all models:
https://www.ford.com/support/how-to...y-does-my-ford-vehicle-enter-deep-sleep-mode/

There's this SSM for false alerts regarding specific systems:
https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2024/MC-10250852-0001.pdf

That spells out when it should occur. I've seen 48% SOC though and no alert thru Fordpass - so I'm guessing there is some length of time in these states before a final "farewell" from the truck being connected. Or the Maverick without Sync3 does things slightly different, as it does in other matters.

Vehicle Has Entered Deep Sleep Mode message is expected if the vehicle has not been started for 14 consecutive days, battery voltage is at/below 9.5 volts or the body control module (BCM) 12 volt battery state of charge (SoC) drops below 50%.

The service technician scratched his head again, and finally mumbled. "This appears to be a suicide note. From your battery!"
