Chrome Delete Project Part 5 - Fender Badge

Part 5 of my chrome delete project is painting the chrome XLT letters on the fender badge with matte black PlastiDip. It came out better than expected. I'm very happy with the result.

I didn't PlastiDip the entire badge, just the area between the horizontal lines above and below the letters.

I find my Maverick to be very bland in appearance. I want more chrome! I’ve thought about those stick-on wide chrome strips to brighten the lower panels. Does anyone have recommendations on this other side of the issue?

Did you tape around each letter? or did it peel after taping at the horizontal lines? i've never plastidipped anything and have been wanting to do this.

No peeling around the letters. The area in red is sprayed with PlastiDip:

I would imagine a Dremel with a grinding attachment for sanding it down would work perfect it's what I plan to do when I add the lens cover in a small blinker underneath it.
