Part three is wheel lug nuts. I replaced the OEM silver/chrome lug nuts with black lug nuts, including the locking nuts. It darkens up the XLT wheels. Just what I was going for. Black wheel lug nuts should be part of the BAP.

Are people actually worried about their stock wheels being stolen?
I don’t get the one odd looking wheel lock
OCD I guess, I want all my lugs to look the same
I can see a high level F150 having theft concerns, but a Maverick?

Thanks for pointing this out. Honestly, I'm not worried about my wheels being stolen. I garage my Maverick. I agree that I would prefer all my lugs to be the same. The locking lugs were on the truck when I bought it, so I just swapped them out. As time goes by, I'll decide if I want to replace the locking lug nut with the standard lug nut next time I take it in for service.

We are going on vacation soon and hotels are notorious for thieves to take items at night.
For $30.00 I will take one odd lug nut . versus not getting my wheels and tires stolen.
Costs would be close $1500-$2000 to replace. Plus the tow.
😄

And then posts picture of a wheel with no locks

Also I can’t imagine there is much of a market for stock Maverick wheels since they don’t fit a lot of other vehicles
IF thieves wanted them, the $30 lock set wouldn't slow them down anyway

Has anyone who put the black lug nuts on a Lariat have a photo?? My truck is cactus gray and anything black is a nice contrast. Thanks!

Did this today with my 10 year old grandson! One piece SS vs OEM 2 piece steel/plastic. Also really like look on wheels with thin metal ring between nut and rim.

2023 XLT Hybrid, swapped out to some Gorilla lug nuts, same 21mm socket size.

A) 4 x Gorilla locking nuts - Part #: 96641BDX
B) 16 x Gorilla lug nuts - Part #: 61148CX

Comparing the 3: a) Gorilla locking nut b) Gorilla lug nut c) Ford Maverick's lug nut

For example for my xt subaru wheel lock [bought in subaru accesories]they had the "machine" to take it off. Could it be ussed for example for thiis wheel lock or not ? Can i get a copy? How could it be solve?

The locking Gorilla nuts are pretty easy to take off even if you lost your "key" socket.

1) You can use a good ol' vise-grip locking pliers, a bulkier one and just clamp onto the nut and find some leverage, and you should be able to twist and get the nut out.
2) Get a socket that is a little tight and wack the socket onto the locking lug nut and you should be able to use your ratchet and get the nut out.

The locking lug nut is just a deterent, and if the thief wants your wheel enough, they will still find ways.
