Check Engine - (EVAP) Vent Control Circuit Malfunction - P0446

With my Blue - 2022 XLT AWD, FX4 - the check engine light came on at 25,000 miles. I took it to the dealer and its p0446 -(EVAP) Vent Control Circuit malfunctioned. The local dealership is not much help, they don't have parts or know exactly how to fix it.

Here is the twist: I'm from Georgia (an Eastern European country), and I think I have only Maverick here. The dealership is not very familiar with these vehicles, and after getting the code, was not sure how to proceed. I'm thinking of replacing the purge valve, but can't find the part online, not sure if the one from Ford Escape would fit. Honestly, hot even sure that the purge valve is at fault.

So, since it looks like I will be fixing this myself, any help from the Maverick family would be much appreciated.

Thanks, yeah - went through these videos, that is basically how I'm guessing that it is a purge Valve problem. problem is that I'm guessing. Also, here we have no Maverick parts, so I need to know if the Escape purge Valve would work, I tried googling the part number but nothing came up. Sucks that 25 K miles vehicle gives you hardware issues.

A purge valve probably won't solve your problem. You have a vent solenoid code. The vent solenoid is usually located near the charcoal canister or sometimes even built into the charcoal canister. The solenoid is usually normally open and closes to perform the EVAP check at start up. Looking on RockAuto I'm going to assume the vent solenoid is built into the canister rather than a separate part. I would definitely try to find another another dealership if they can't diagnose a simple EVAP system. They've only been around for over two decades.

Some are reporting loose/corroded electrical connections in harness connectors. ???

can confirm that replacing the purge valve did not clear p0446 for me. But the vent solenoid did.

are referring to the escape YouTube video? at this low mileage, if anybody has the same code, it has to be the same cause of the problem.

Checking of the continuity of the solenoid (or other ?) wires mentioned in video.
Edit to add: seems like someone posted that their EVAP code whatever it was cured itself after a period of time so their is that also

Rodent chewed wires was the issue for me, a butt splice and shrink tube was the cure.

Probably not your problem if your mechanic actually put eyes on it.

Do you mean - disconnect the canister, I will try to do that if it's a relatively simple operation.
