Does anyone have insight about these crossbars on Amazon? They look reasonably good. I can’t justify the cost for Yakima, Thule, or rhino right now.

I know nothing about these but I'd be wary based upon the reviewers comments which include bad instructions, a few had parts missing, not without wind noise.... One person may have not installed them properly and had one come loose. So, I'd probably look elsewhere. There are less expensive universal racks with better ratings.

Do any reasonably decent cheaper alternatives come to mind? I’m having difficulty finding any posts in the forum fitting the description of cheap but good naked roof crossbars. There are options on Amazon, but you really can’t trust the reviews.

I have those bars. Used them on a 1400 mile trip in June.

Mine came with everything and for the price worked great.

We had to fiddle with them a lot to get them to fit properly but I can't imagine the more expensive ones would be that much better.

One BIG warning- they tore up the paint where the corners rubbed. My recomendation would be to put something like clear vinyl wrap to prevent them from digging into the paint. The rubber protectors didn't reach up high enough where it rubbed.

The locks can also pop out of the covers when you're taking them off.

Overall I'd buy them again and going forward make sure I put something thicker where they rubbed to protect the paint.

It PAW season here, I only keep the rack on in the summer for paddleboards. And boy are they whistlin' dixie all over the east coast. I gotta figure out how to stop that whistling, it's coming from the end caps. They're fine for my limited use. I bought directly on the paw site, shipped from Turkey.
