Change out the backup camera on my 2022 Maverick XL

Hi,

After adding cruise control to my XL and having to reset the codes every time Ford did a recall, I now want to change the camera out for a wide angle. Has anyone else tried this? I am having problems finding just a 170-degree camera that doesn't have lane control or something. I looked for an OEM part number but couldn't find one. I thought I would check here and see if anyone else had done this already. I then want to see about changing out my mother's CMax camera for the wide angle. I don't want to go with an aftermarket setup if I can avoid it. Then, there is the recall that they don't know what to do to fix it, and that might become an issue. Any thoughts?

I wouldn't touch it until after the recall.

Have you considered a mirror camera? That way you don't have to mess with the existing camera (I think).

Go ahead and try. You can't do any worse than what Ford's doing right now.

I agree with everyone on this. I'll keep researching and wait for Ford. We did have the image freeze once right after the recall came out. It only did it once. As long as I know it can do that, I double-check with my eyes.
