Beware, yesterday I received a Email from Carvana telling me what my Maverick was worth. It listed my color, mileage, basic equipment etc. But they goofed as they had me as a AWD and not a Hybrid. They must of hacked me thru the Wifi connection that I connected last week and I will shut it, I don't need updates that bad. Anybody else have this? Oh they had tons of ads selling vehicles along with it.

Doubtful Carvana did any hacking, as there are much easier ways to find out about you. Does ford offer carfax? They send us crap all the time and I am pretty sure they sold our information as well.

Retired software engineer here. One of my friends did "data scraping" for a living. There are hundreds, if not thousands of ways to learn anything and everything about anyone. One of the simplest is for a data scraper to just buy your data from a credit monitoring agency (or other companies that specialize in gathering data). Or as mentioned above, any of several commercial or government agencies. Or on the black market. Or just by scraping data off of web pages.

One easy way that a lot of online services make money is by selling your personal information to the data collectors - which is perfectly legal because you clicked "OK" on that long "terms and conditions" page you didn't read.

FYI, sold my XL hybrid, 8,700 miles with self installed trailer hitch to Carvana for $27k the day after thanksgiven. Carmax offered $25k. Tried to first sell it on Facebook Market place for $28k but no luck after 2 weeks. Carvana a week latter had it up for sale for $32k, now at $30,590 with a purchase pending.

$24,900 they quoted for a AWD, mine is a 23 XLT Hybrid.
