Keep what you have until the 2028 redesign then see if it's still worth selling. That is unless you want a completely different vehicle now.
No 2028 renders yet
Big changes? Exterior? Engine?

Have had a poke round the Ontario market, they're holding, don't have any trade evaluators that don't require email, phone, blood sample and thus bug you through multiple channels ever after. But 2025s with up to 20k on them seem to be selling for 2025 MRSP, but you're not gonna get super close to that as a trade.

In general on used vs new these days you wanna look at best rate you can get on used financing, vs best rate you can get on new financing, might be 9.99 vs 2.99 and the payment can be the same over 60mo on 30k used as 50k new. Gap gets closer as rates get closer, but you are very typically two points apart at least.

That's a pretty good render!
The front end reminds me of a Chevy Colorado
It might need 2" more
Size it up!

I just looked diesel rabbit up and found this!=
The Volkswagen Rabbit Pickup—known globally as the VW Caddy—was built from 1979 to 1984 at the Westmoreland, Pennsylvania plant. Featuring unibody construction and front-wheel drive, it offered a 6-foot bed and an 1,100-pound payload capacity. Today, these trucks are sought-after classics, typically selling at auction between $5,000 and $10,000.
I know someone who worked at that plant from opening to closing. He bragged about having the job of welding door hinges to the body and the doors would fall off on the line. He said he didn't know how to weld but got the job due to seniority. Said most of the hinges he welded had to be repaired by a REAL welder at quality control.

Is the 2028 going to be an actual full redesign or a 2025 style refresh with limited changes? Ford usually seems to let models run 10 years before a completely new design is offered.

I'm also typically a "never buy new guy" having been a banker (retired) the numbers ruin it for me but given how much I got for my old 2016Tacoma ($19K), a Vet credit ($1500) and just an everyday Ecoboost credit ($1500), Local Sale Credit ($500) last fall, I ended up paying just about $9000 out of pocket for a 2015 Ford Maverick XL with the 4K Tow Package, Ford 360 and Remote Entry. I have since added some features and am overall really happy with the truck.

I also declined paying most of the doc fees advance service fees, rustproofing etc. Did local Krown Rustproofing that was 70% less expensive. (Lifetime Warranty if you refresh it yearly)

The plan is for this to last a long time (I'm 62) so I'm taking good care of it.

Worth noting the Tacoma value would have dropped off quite a bit in value at the 10 year mark which was part of my decision. If I were looking for a 2nd vehicle right now, I would take a hard look at a used Tesla Model 3. There was a huge amount of leases for these done in 2023 and they are all back now so Tesla has a huge inventory. The depreciation is insane on these but it has already happened so they can be had for a song and the battery has 7 years left on a 10 year warranty. Add to that, they are generally decent vehicles. You are looking at $20K to $27K for a vehicle that retailed about $44K.

A few weeks ago prompted by another member I checked and I was being offered $35,600 for my 2025 Lariat AWD Hybrid 4K Tow w/moonroof with 13k miles.

Well today - it has 14,250 miles on it and the Carvana offer increased to $37,200. With it being fully paid off, and I could get most of (90+%) my PremiumCare warranty back...I'm looking at roughly $1,500 for 14 months and 14,000 miles worth of driving.

It is very tempting to sell!!

Remember, you won't be able to replace it for $37,200, why don't you sell your house, I'm sure you will get more for it then you paid! Again, you won't be able to replace it for the same money.

No but I can replace it with something else it doesn’t have to another AWD Hybrid Lariat.

Then I would go with the Carvana deal. Trade in will be a lot less, and Carvana is easy to deal with. I sold my 2015 Sonata to them when I bought my Maverick.

No wonder people want them...
They were built with the diesel that still had "FahrvergnĂĽgen".
