After having my Maverick Lariat First Edition for one Month (3/25), I took my truck in today to have the dealer add some options I'd ordered but weren't available (until now). One of the options was the "Touchlink Truck Bed Lighting", which adds some touch-sensitive lights inside the bed.
Tonight I looked out in the garage and noticed the cargo lights were on (on the cab and in the bed as pictured). I can't figure out now to turn them off. I looked on the owners' manual and found nothing about how to turn the cargo lights on and off. I called the Ford Support line and got a very sweet lady who had no clue, but said she could only look at the owners' manual as well... she found nothing either. The dealership was closed by the time I noticed.
The button I seem to recall controlling these lights now turns the Touchlink lights on and off. I have a sneaking suspicion that they may have wired the Touchlink incorrectly, but would like to make sure I'm not missing something before I tear into the accessory power box. I really don't want to leave them on all night until the dealership opens to ask them. The lights are already very hot from being on for a few hours.

Any thoughts??

This problem began immediately after the Ford dealership installed new lighting? Something is likely not wired correctly is my guess. I'd take it back to the dealership.

I wonder if the on/off switch in the truck bed has any influence in your case. I know normally that will turn the cargo lights on the cab on/off, but I'm betting you already tried that. Otherwise, I don't have a clue as I've not heard of the touch lights you mentioned.

Pull the bulbs until you can get back to your dealer.

The switch inside the bed now controls the Touchlink light only (arrow). The longer light and the cab lights stay on all the time. I'm pretty sure they wired it wrong.

Ah well... back to the dealer in the morning.

On a brighter note, the new deflectors on the windows and hood look great (in my opinion)!

I have the exact trim level with TOUCHLINK. So far, so good.

Found out the lights are wired with the interior & inside bed lighting.
The TOUCHLINK will stay on if it is still in the ON position.

BEST way to test it >> with tailgate unlocked, wait for interior lights to turn off, then open the tailgate. The normal regular (long) light should be off. IF the TOUCHLINK lamps are on, turn them off with a long-touch to either lamp until they turn off. Now you should be set.

There is nothing in the Owner's Manual. For more info on TOUCHLINK, go to the Accessories.Ford website, look for the installation instructions which also provides additional operational info.

Just what I experienced.

I gave up messing with the lights a little after midnight. When I got up in the morning, the truck was completely dead. Thankfully, I have the starter pack and got it up and running and took it to the dealer.

My truck spent the night last night at the dealership. There is apparently an issue with the Touchlink lights that Ford engineering had acknowledged and is working on a fix. I got my truck back today but the normal bedlight doesn't turn on. At least the cab light doesn't stay on all the time and drain the battery. When Ford engineering figures out the fix, I'll take it back in.

In the meantime, I added the the carbon filament tailgate lettering today.. I like it!
