Can Tailgate Be Adjusted? - Rubbing

This was one of the photos I quickly found. gap is pretty close on both sides

The gaps between the tailgate and the side of the truck look smaller than mine. Did you ever use a hoist attached to the sides to hold a load in the bed? I have heard tell of that possibly causing this issue if pulled too tight.

Not that I can recall. Havent hauled a complete full load where I needed to use rear "D" ring locations or tailgate down. I have hauled a bunch of smaller stuff (pellet grill, desk,dresser etc) but used the tie down locations closest to the cabin. I also dont go "ham" on the straps or nothing to secure it. I am more worried about breaking whatever it is I am trying to secure. I can also see your thoughts on how it could "warp" the bed, but do not feel any situation I have done previously should have caused it.

The photo of the bed of the truck with tailgate up was within the first few months of me owning it and I havent hauled anything at that point and you can still sort of see how the gaps were close on the bottom of tailgate. So not sure. but thanks for your $0.02!
