Can ford technition change priority setting

Years ago when manufacturers started putting all this computer mess in cars the tech could change alot of the the default settings for diagnostic purposes.then of course after they were done they had to change it back to the factory settings.can this still be done today on things like run stop,change driving mode setting’s and so on?

Ford's software that the techs have can change a lot of settings not avaible on the regular user interface.

Yes,but do they have to change what they change ,like let sport mode be the default setting when you first start truck.back in my day if you and teck were good friends things got done that might not should have been done but just forgot to get changed back.

Techs use forscan, which any person can get access to. Changing the default start mode is currently not a available option.

FORScan isn't a FoMoCo program. Techs would be using FDRS/IDS.

Oh that's right I forgot about IDS. The last time I had a tech change some DRL setting for me it looked pretty much the same.

Regardless I don't think they have anything more than what forscan already offers. But I could be wrong.

So its not as simple to make changes in settings ,turn stuff off or on or make changes as it used to be.seems to me if a computer programs these settings it should be able to make changes if needed.like i said,71 is old and computers arnt my thing.but i can change points in a car

Hunt around for a Ford employee with a company laptop that probably works in a calibration setting.

They have all the interface capabilities to do what ever they want. Some things could void a warranty.

Quick example would be be to remove V-max setting. Maybe not something you want to do. but the capability is there.

Possibilty of finding said person on the blue oval forums.

When I bought my 2018 F150 I made the salesman promise to eliminate the double honk when you step away from the running truck.

Sat in the office while he did it. Or was supposed to do it. Finally the tech came in and said it couldn't be done. Went home and did it in forscan in about 20 minutes. A lot of times the techs will give you
"go away" answers.
