Can Anyone Track with VinView?

I have called Norfolk Southern to track my Maverick. They say that it is in Arizona on July 5th. Truck wasn't built until the 11th and shipped the 12th. Looks like their system is not updating. The railcar may have been in Arizona on it's way down to the plant. Does anyone have Vinview to track it? The number is TTGX991219.

I just ran the car number on the phone. Shows to be in Pheonix AZ. Don't call and speak to a person, use the keypad. NS phone # 800-635-5768 When asked put in a #2, then it comes up with another directive...hit ##2 again. Then it will ask for equipment number. Put in 8849# ( TTGX in numeral format). Then put in ( for your railcar) 991219#. It will read off what you put in, then hit 1# to confirm. It will then give information.

Vin View is dealer only. I had several checks made on mine through Vin View. Turned out to be full of crap! Vin View didn't show it even leaving the plant until railcar was in Westfield Texas where they unload cars for Houston sales area.

On the other hand, the railcar done some fairly weird stuff too. Never actually showed it going into Mexico. But it did arrive so all is well!

I called NS tracking and it tells me the same. In Phoenix July 5. I have a Corolla Cross coming on NS from Alabama and it is updating just fine via phone tracking.

Yep I agree. Tracking is updating for me with another vehicle. You need to have your dealer check it.

Expect 4-6 weeks average for delivery to your dealership. Especially Florida.

Actually it can. Mine done something similar. When Ford says "shipped" that does not mean it is moving. I would bet if you could get a Vin View it would show your Maverick in Hermosillo.
I would say it is rare to see a rail car sit in one place that long. But while you know this car number is assigned to your Maverick, you don't know when it will be loaded. So, my best guess would be this car will start moving and that is when it will pick up your Maverick to begin the journey in the US. I don't know if these cars are going into Mexico, or if they are off loaded then reloaded somewhere else? My railcar never showed going into Mexico.

I myself am in NY state I think since i am located east of Mississippi that its on CSX . I use the automated 800-235-2352 and mine says offloaded to foreign carrier. Then it tells me where the rail car was in the past a few weeks before. Nothing more. Mine shipped July 17th. So I guess its the rail car is sitting in Mexico. Not sure how helpful this will really be. My expected delivery to dealer according to Ford I called says between August 15 to 21. Hope its right.

Dealers can only look at the VIN VIEW for their vehicles. So, only your dealer (or Ford) can access that information. Call your salesman and have him (or whoever at the the dealership has VIN VIEW access) pull up your truck and show you the current location.

This is an old post by me. I ended up getting my Truck August 17th 2023 I believe. The calling the train people was a waste of time for ME. They never said much at all. Calling the dealer and having them use the GPS they can locate EXACTLY where the truck is. That number still said handed off to other carrier when it was really at local train yard.

So best to just call dealer they can track exact location using the trucks own gps once it ships from manufacture plant .
