They are an electrical cable called a pigtail, look up stuff about bed electrical modifications to see what you can use them for.

It's the electrical connector to use with the 12v power points that are in the bed by the tailgate.

Thank you…you win the prize for a specific answer! I really like the air compressor idea…useful. Any idea on part number for the cubby cover door?(My XL only has a metal cover held on with bolts.
