I read a post somewhere I can't recall. It said the paint thickness is well within industry standard Yet the link above says it is thin. Regardless of the thickness it does appear it is crappy paint. I don't care what the car costs. I think we should expect and get better.Again no evidence, so i will leave my proof with someone that actually measured the paint and you can leave your opinion. Good day.
How do I send you a private message? And thanks for your response. I really appreciate it. I will also send you pics. I noticed the issue as I was washing and adding a ceramic spray coating for extra protection.Hi there, Rick! This doesn’t sound like the experience we want you to be having with your Maverick. Please go ahead and send us a private message with your VIN and dealership information. I’d be happy to look into these front bumper paint concerns for you. Thank you.

The average new car paint is 4 to 5. So an average of 3.15 is definitely on the low side. 2.24 is very poor.
I’ve actually measured my paint and it’s all over 4 mils. Some was over 5. I see nothing wrong with the paint so far but as always PPF is a good idea regardless.Dont listen to this guy. The memeber that actually measured their paint was down to 2.28 with an average of 3.15. Nowhere near what the above claims. But the evidence is there for one to decide.
Mils, or thousandths of an inch."4 to 5" what?
I picked up my new Maverick after waiting almost nine months. I was happy to get it and am still quite happy.
I traded in a 2014 Fusion Hybrid. The Fusion gets better mileage but then it is a car and not a truck. I still like the mileage I get but so far with about 1200 miles, I am getting an average of 37 miles per gallon. Most highway miles.
The issue I have with the front bumper is that I already have peeling paint from a couple of rock or bug hits. Overall, I am quite happy with the truck. I would like better mileage though.
I bought the XLT with nothing extra.
Or you are in the minority. But all we know is there is no consistently but thanks for the pics of you measuring...I get 3.6 to 4.5 mil, the roof is thinner than the rest. DeFelsko gage, part of my day job.
Carbonized Gray Metallic with zero paint issues, nada - 16k miles. Show car perfect? Hell no, it's a factory paint job that has not been corrected, but stripped clean and ceramic coated it is more than acceptable for a Fomoco paint job...
Some folks have some crappy paint problems no doubt, but it seems to be more accurate to say it is a your truck problem, not a Ford Maverick problem.

Got this hybrid lariat model with lariat luxury package just 2weeks ago. Drove only 250 miles in the town only and just noticed that the paint is already coming off from rear door on driver side.
