Within the last hour I got a text from Ford stating that they expect to start building my Atlas Blue 2.0 Ecoboost Lariat with 4k the week of September 2nd (was ordered August 22, 2023). Hallelujah.... Wouldn't you know it, I had just resigned myself to the fact that it would probably roll over to a 2025. hahahaha
Now I need to make a decision on the new snowmobile trailer. Just this week I found a 2024 leftover, 4 hours away up in Maine... Not exactly what I want (it's black and does not have PT flooring), but is probably close enough with a savings of around $2,000 over ordering a 2025. The main reason I ordered the Maverick (replacing my 2020 Escape Titanium that has the same 2.0 Ecoboost) was to tow the new trailer. The Maverick has an increase in towing capacity over the Escape of 500 lbs. With the new trailer weighing a little over 400 lbs more than my current trailer it should be a good match and I still should get decent mileage. The Escape got between 13 and 17 towing my clamshell depending on where I was heading and how much of the trip was with the cruize set at 75. The longer I traveled at the higher speeds, the lower the average mileage. But... Many full size pickup trucks don't get that kind of mileage towing a trailer with 2 sleds. Trailer is taller, but it is narrower, so we will see how the wind resistance balance out between the 2... Guess I will find out on my 1st trip (already scheduled for early January to Ft. Kent ME, an 8.5+ hour drive on a good day from central MA). Wish me luck that all goes as planned.
