buggy windshield

I've noticed the Maverick windshield collects more bugs than my sedans, I use a RainX type washer fluid, things come off a bit easier with that use & I also add some window cleaner or windex to the fluid to clean better.

Clean windshield with 0000 steel wool using water or a window cleaner to lube the steel wool.

Once you have done that, claybar the windshield and clean windshield after using the claybar.

Once you have done that, ceramic coat the windshield.

I then use Chemical Guys Hydro View for maintenance.

Bugs do not stick, and I do not have to use my windshield wipers in rain if I am b in motion.

We only serve French Fried Rabbit Tracks at our Meet ups. That way, no one gains any weight. When we do serve anything, it is Armadillo on half shell since we do not get many oysters here. Whoever finds road kill on the way in brings it LOL.

Might pass on the Armadillo, but i'm bringing some tire mashed potatoes, seasoned with the finest gravel.

Clean your windows good with something good like Stoner glass cleaner inside and out. Wet wax all of your windows including the windshield. Bugs and bird doo come off and you'll have super clear vision, mine do not streak or spot.

What are folks doing about bug smacked windshields?

My Mav's windshield always looks like a bug cemetary after a drive.

How about front hood deflector? Do those help?

Obviously washing too. I spray the windshield down about every other day now. I'm asking for other options.

How about windshield washer fluid that's better at removing bug smack? I have generic blue stuff for the fluid and it can't clean the windshield.

turtle wax makes a good 'slick glass' cleaner that I use. doesn't keep bugs off however makes the windshield really easy to clean.

I use bounce fabric softener dryer sheets. Learned about this trick a decade or so ago and it works. Something about whatever is in the chemicals in the sheets is gentle on the surfaces and easy on the paint & chrome. Wet the surface down first, then scrub with sheet, final rinse .... done!

I can remember being TDY when in the AF to Patrick AFB. It was so bad I started putting screen mesh in front of my radiator to keep the fins from clogging up.

IIRC, I had to stop about every 25-30 miles and use my Windex that had become a necessity to keep on hand at the height of Luvbug season.

at 72 this has never happened to me before. I had recently purchased my maverick and going down the road, a blitzkrieg of bird poop covered my ENTIRE windshield. somehow, almost none hit the paint! had to be flying elephants or something. what.a.mess. as others have mentioned, maverick windshields seem to attract bugs and stuff...
