I have a Lund bug deflector for my 2022 Maverick XLT. The recommended minimum temperature for installation is 60F. The recommended minimum temp for 3M automotive tape, from what I could find, is 50F.

Has anyone installed a deflector at temps in the 50s (or lower)?

Thanks,
KJ

I hope to see 50° by April sometime. Guess I'll install mine then.

I ordered one and its on backorder, company says in high demand.
Id say park in the garage if you have one and install. If not use a hair drier and warm up the tape a bit and the port of the hood that your gonna install on.

I installed mine in a garage early spring in 2022 from a different manufacturer, I would not recommend installing it in freezing or cold temps outside at all.

Maybe others have had better luck but I have not with automotive or double sided tape in cold weather, it just doesn’t stay pliable and sticky enough and you end up with a loose fitting trim piece or a corner that won’t stick down the line from my experience.

I would think most of Texas would hit 50 at some point over the next couple weeks. I say set it aside until it warms up. I'm in central Alabama and we will get over 50 every day over the next week, hitting 60 most days.

Use a heat gun (or a hair dryer if that's all you have)! All you need is to apply a small amount of heat so the adhesive works.

I CONCUR!!! I have a couple of 3M things to install that say no lower than 50 degrees. Well, I an going to wait until it is 60 before I put them on. I'm never comfortable with 2-sided tape. Good luck.
