BOOST LEAK 2024

I have been hearing what I describe as an Aztec Death Whistle noise under 3/4+ throttle. I purchased a cheap smoke machine on Amazon for $65 bucks. Found the leak, at the FMIC where the charge pipe connects. Tightening clamp did not help, and upon removing the hose and blocking it off, there is a crack where the neck meets the housing.
Took it to Ford dealer, and they smoked it and cannot find the leak…. . Wanted to charge me $175 diagnostic fee and send me down the road. I went out to where my truck was parked and hooked up my machine, smoking in the same spot! Got the service manager out to verify and told him I refuse to pay the diagnostic fee. I was polite enough to him, but expressed that he should source qualified techs. Asked him how much his smoke machine cost (north of $1000). I’m way too impressed at this point. Cancelled my extended warranty as well.
I will be ordering the CVF unit today.

I have 18709 miles. It is under warranty still, but based on this experience Id rather just swap for the CVF and DIY.
I already started doing my own oil changes because the last 3 dealers I have been to always leave the skid plate bolts loose, and twice i have been missing the smaller bolts up front.

FX4 skid plate weight 27lbs.... If that were to come off at highway speed, I cant imagine the damage to my truck or the unlucky person behind me. A dealer would never own that, I would get all the blame.

Which place in Centerville ? I did have my BOV/Wastegate go south that was not able to hold proper peak boost- Got it swapped under warranty -

Do any of the CVF units hold more boost and if so does the OEM/ECU then override that ?

The stock intercooler heat soaks quickly and degrades performance. The CV Fab intercooler is like 240% larger and keeps temps down.

Oh, ok... The CVF is the intercooler and down pipe that I got. My BOV is Kompact Dual port. It wont add HP, but it will help protect your turbo, makes a whoosh sound. Thats about it.
