Black Package Exterior Trim

I have a '25 XLT hybrid on order in Desert Sand with the Black Appearance Package. When I ordered it, Ford hadn't announced the black roof and hood decals. They are now showing them when you do the "build and price." I'm assuming there's nothing to be done about the black roof, but I sure would like to keep those decals off the hood. I know the decals have been shown/discussed on a different thread, but wondered if there was any new information on keeping them off. It would seem to me that if someone were ordering something like the BAP, Ford would take the hint that they want LESS swag, not MORE! (Yes, I read about taking them off with a heat gun. I really don't want to risk damaging the paint trying to get them off.)

Unfortunately there is no option to remove the stickers or black roof from the order. However you can remove the stickers yourself once you get it or have the dealership remove them.

If not comfortable doing it yourself, I would recommend going to a detail shop/place that does vinyl wraps. They will be very familiar with removing vinyl stickers. I would not have a dealer do it -- I think that's just asking for trouble. I've done plenty of emblems and even side molding, but not sure I would tackle a big hood decal. I definitely agree with removing it though!

have a pic of the hood ? Ordered the black package but I’m not seeing the black on the hood, the exterior hood view that I’m seeing doesn’t show the whole thing

You can ask your dealer if Option 19A is working yet. That was supposed to remove the black roof painting, but so far it had not been implemented. Hopefully now (or soon) it will work, especially for people in states that experience high temperatures who would appreciate it on their light color builds.

if not implemented yet, you might want to check back with the dealer periodically until you get the start of build email to see if Ford eventually wakes up.

The black roof and hood stripes were showing up on day 1 of being able to order, this is why I chose not to go with the BAP.

Use a hair dryer and it works well and won’t hurt your paint.
