Yes - it ends up sitting on the cross bars, and the back end of the canoe rests on the back of the topper. I ended up getting some foam pads to put under the gunnels so it doesn't rub. I haven't taken any pictures, but it works well. Pogee Please take pics. Am at Leer dealer now getting rails on the topper. Want to put a kayak on top so would like to see how you did it Thanks
