We are sitting in Durango tonight and pointing out Tremor towards Moab tomorrow. We are gonna spend all of Thursday in Moab off-road. Only trails I have done there is Pucker Pass and the trail out of Arches to the highway.

Anyone have any suggestions for having some fun there in our Tremor?

Faux falls is a nice little blip up the hill to a cool mine induced waterfall- There are legit 4x4 trails just down from there- Hurrah pass is fun- Usually a sunset destination- Gemini bridges, world class feature -

I was looking at Gemini as well as another one right near there.

Will check out the Faux falls and see.

Potash Rd to Shafer Trail and Long Canyon Rd can be made into a nice loop with a stop at Dead Horse Point State Park - this would soak up several hours for sure, but is a gorgeous loop and offers some of the best, most expansive views of the Colorado. I would recommend going clockwise, so you're going up Shafer Canyon and down Long Canyon. Not overly technical, so you wouldn't be putting your shiny new Mav in harms way, but definitely still a fun drive.

Gemini Bridges is pretty righteous and, if I recall, can get a bit technical in spots - maybe some clearance issues depending on how you go. If you go to the bridges, make sure to read the signs in the parking area about where to walk - there is a not so obvious thinner area that isn't recommended to be walked on. We didn't see the signs until after the fact, but fortunately didn't find out the hard way.

If you want to test your Mav a bit, there's some stuff in the Fins-n-Things area virtually right in the town of Moab that could be a fun treat. Depending on which loop or feature you're on, can be very technical.

If you're still unsure, there are lots of outfitters in town that could make some recommendations if you ask nicely, buy a t-shirt, etc.

Do you think Shafer Trail is doable in a FWD Maverick? I'm heading out that way in my Lariat in the summer.

Honestly, yes - it's more of an unpaved track than a "trail" per se, especially the switchback part, which is essentially a dirt road. It's also relatively flat (switchbacks aside), dry, and not technical, so clearance shouldn't be an issue. There is oodles of YouTube footage to give you an idea of what you'd be getting into - and to get you amped up for the scenery. I would do it in a hybrid Mav, but would just be mindful of what rocks I'm running over with my hybrid-y tires.
