I love my Maverick and I have a 24 XLT AWD, FX4 with 4k tow and lux pkg. I’m taking my vehicle in to the dealer this Wednesday for them to check the alignment. The steering wheel has been off center since I got it. It I’m an hr away. I have noticed a super annoying vibration through the whole vehicle but more so through the steering wheel that reduces when I’m driving slower and is gone when I’m stopped. I was looking over the truck yesterday and noticed an abnormal amount of wheel weights on my front driver wheel. I’m hoping this is my vibration.

That’s a lot of weights.

Also to note all the other wheels only have like 2-4 weights and steering wheel center is off to the right very slightly with 2-3 psi more air pressure on passenger tires. Initially I was talking it to have alignment checked but the vibration which you can feel through the steering wheel is at all speeds but very annoying at 55+ mph. I’m confident they will take care of me. The dealer has been great through the whole process of getting vehicle and has very good communication. Hopefully it’s just a bad tire/wheel or maybe just a rebalance.

I notice you have Pirelli Scorpion Tires 225/65 R17 102H tires. My 2024 XLT Hybrid FWD has Continental ProContact 225/65R17 102H. Is that because yours is AWD FX4?

I'd put money on it's a bad tire too.

Here to say how much I like the blue color with the FX4 black wheels. Very nice!

So I’m back from the dealer. 2 hrs 20 minutes later and no change. The wheel was left the same. The steering wheel that is off center to the right is also the same as when I took it. All they did was check tire pressure and adjusted toe on front right wheel which did nothing. After waiting over 2 hrs and having an hr drive each way I was not going back. I sent an email to the manager letting them know I’m annoyed it’s the same but I spent half the day and have the same result. Don’t get me wrong the truck is aligned and there isn’t an excessive amount of vibration from the wheel. I feel like what they do is put it on the machine and check it and as long as it’s in spec they move on. 🤦‍♂️
I will keep this thread updated. If I was the avg consumer I guess I wouldn’t care or maybe even notice this. Ignorance is bliss I guess for most people. I’ll update this when this is fixed. It’s literally the only small issue I care about with the vehicle now.

Try a reputable independent shop even if you pay out of pocket. If they say it’s the wheel have them put it in writing at least.

I’m willing to bet it a bad tire from the factory.

I was considering that but it’s under warranty and I have a large payment so I’m not willing to pay for something that is supposed to be covered. I will see what happens and what they say from my email. They seemed rushed and had some other customers. I was also late which I’m sure put the time crunch on them. I just don’t want to keep driving out an hr away if they do not fix the issue. It most definitely could be a bad tire. I will give them one more chance and maybe I need to go with the tech and explain the situation and get an earlier appointment.

What else are they supposed to do?

My point is they didn’t check centering of wheel which was my concern . I know it doesn’t affect driving it’s something I feel should be right in a 35k vehicle that is new. If you just drive it in bay and put it on the machine it’s going to show good and within alignment spec. I’m not a tech and I’m sure they see a lot of vehicles so something subtle like this for a vehicle they don’t drive everyday can easily be overlooked. I should have asked to ride along with them to show them, which is what I plan on doing next time. I do not fault the tech. I’m picky and ocd. This will not bother most people.

I’m guessing you do not have this issue or you wouldn’t care. I had a similar wheel off center issue with my 22’ Camaro from new as well. I never took it in because I didn’t plan on keeping it. And had an idea it wouldn’t get fixed since it was subtle as well. That was a 40k vehicle. I plan on keeping and owning this vehicle for a very long time so I want it to be as perfect as it can be. I take care of my stuff and when something is off or not right I fix it. Attention to detail and precision is not part of American society or manufacturing like it used to be. I guess most people are ok things being imperfect and will just sell or trade it accepting something that isn’t correct.
