Bed Outlet / Back Seat Outlet Not Working

I'm looking to see if anyone has fixed their power plug/ outlet in bed. For a back story I went tailgating and noticed that I wasn't getting power to bed outlet or the 110v outlet in the rear seats. After checking the fuses (all good) I had to take it to my dealer. They have stated that I need a battery replacement and new bed outlet to fix the issue. Ford has stated that they won't cover it under warranty because I'm 700 miles over the 36k.

Has anyone replaced theirs on their own? Any pointers?

Also, has anyone had any luck with getting Ford to cover anything that is slightly over warranty. My dealer said they some times make exceptions and I really think this should be one.

Escalate up the food chain. If the service writer said no, ask to speak to the service manager. If he says no, asking him how to contact the district manager. They should be able to cover this under "goodwill".

That's interesting. I had both of my outlets go bad at the same time after only one use. Fortunately it was still under warranty. The dealer said they never saw both go bad at the same time. Lowest bidder parts I'm guessing.

Lot's of posts on this. Mine was a loose connection under the bed that affected both outlets. Don't ask me where is was specifically, the dealer fixed it and told me.
