Yes, I skimmed the big thread already. I already know from that that none of the hard covers seem to fit what I need. I'm worried that getting the Ford tri-fold soft cover isn't what I need either though. What I'm needing is something to cover the bed most of the time, but can easily be completely removed so I have full access to the bed for some taller cargo. And I need the full length: that extra couple of inches that the hard tri-fold cover uses is keeping me from using the bed fully. SO, those with experience with the bed covers, any thoughts? Should I call the dealer and get the soft cover removed from my order? (I hear it can hold up orders anyway sometimes). Any aftermarket suggestions?

I have the OEM roll up soft cover (~$400), you lose only about 2in when it's rolled up, but if you really needed you could put the cargo in, push it all the way into the bed, pull the cover up so it rests between it and window.

most soft tri folds can be removed in minutes without crawling into the bed if you need every inch

How easy is it to remove completely and toss into the back seat on the floor? That might be just what I'm looking for. I didn't see it listed on the 2025 configurator though, dealer accessory?

I like my truxedo x15. The header rail is part of the cover and there are two quick release sliders that lock it under the side rails. You can roll it up and take it out of the bed in about a minute and have full length access. You do lose about an inch on each side for width of the bed right at the top rail because this model has a support lip for the bows to sit on.

I've been very happy with the OEM Soft Rollup. When rolled up you lose virtually no space and no blocking the view out the back (until you pile your load up high).

I would never consider removing it for space.

I have the weather tech as well and not to jinx things, but it has been amazingly watertight as well.

Don't pay the markup from a dealership they're the same covers that any other manufacture sells with a Ford sticker on it instead of back or trifecta. Get it for half the price of real truck rough country back or whoever you choose to buy from but skip the dealer why pay twice the price for the same product.

Most all hard or soft to new covers come off in 5 minutes or less in your garage or driveway without getting into the bed. Simple install simple removal. Only hard to new covers that are a pain to remove or the old style salad one piece fiberglass that they used to make in the early 2000s and were popular.
