Hi Gary,

Did you install the carpet on the tailgate too?
I'm going to, but I'm going to get rubber pad to put down first so sitting on it isn't so hard. Probably use velcro on that.

Unfortunately everything molds here in Hawaii even the exterior of vehicles. I used my points to order a bed cover so that should help keep it dryer for sure.

Looks good. A little tip for mounting. Some strong neodymium magnets on the back of carpet held in by a square of carpet held by contact cement. Place them in strategic areas such as between the raise areas of bed floor. Only suggest this because I don’t have faith in tape.

I added a bed rug on a budget. So I hit the carpet isle at Home Depot and they have rolls of 6' x 8' outdoor carpet for about $23. I also pick up double back tape and a roll of magnet tape. I also picked up a 7gal tote for my road essentials. Tools you'll need are scissors or box knife, measuring tape, staple gun and a saw. I adhered to the tape/magnet in 3in strips on all corners and in the middle sections to hold to the bed. If you add the cross boards you have plenty of carpet left over to carpet them too ( it just gives it finished look). I made the front box bigger but still used the bed cutouts to secure the cross board.

I agree the carpet gets the job done (and somewhat inexpensive). Great idea for the separators, and I’ll try that if, when, how, I ever get a VIN number.

I want to try the magnet tape and put Astro turf in my bed. Great job with the carpet!
I just finished installing artificial turf in my backyard and still have some left over.
my wife looked at me like I’m crazy but this sounds lit.
