Thanks I have not has any issues yet with my 22. Happy getting an agm though.
I noticed the recall yesterday, and this morning my maverick would not start. Checked volts, and had only 11.1 volts. The dealership said I have to buy another battery, because they do not have the parts yet to fix the recall. I have 59,000 miles on it, so no warranty either.

If your vehicle has the recall on it can't you get the new battery then just keep track of how much you spent and receipts and such and then when the recall is done turn It in to Ford and have them pay you back?

Check with a different dealer. Both my hybrid Maverick and my wife’s hybrid Escape were down to 38%. We took both to a Lincoln dealer and they replaced them for free.

I find that interesting. Your battery failed and the Ford dealer can't get a replacement. That's Great customer service!

It's not so much that the dealer doesn't have the battery, but Ford hasn't officially 'opened' servicing the recall on the basis of availability. So a dealer won't replace a battery free under the recall because they wouldn't be approved/paid.

Think that's even worse.

If you're under the 3/36k bumper-to-bumper warranty period, then its covered.

Considering this recall affects only '22MY good odds they may not be by this point.
There are probably 4 different battery recalls and CSMs at this point on all 22-24 model years, and none of them have solved the undercharging issue that is on all Mavericks, Escapes, Broncos, F150s and Mustangs that are using the same broken software. We're still waiting for them to fix the primary problem.

There's only one battery recall. And it's not for undercharging. Go grind your axe somewhere else.

Yes. This happened to me with my 2015 fusion when the shifter cable recall went out. I had to pay for it, and then when it finally came through, I just had to go to the dealership and file for a reimbursement. It took 6 weeks to get the check.

The original battery is included with the 3 year 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. I have 59,000 miles even though it is only 2.5 years old. The new battery goes on years not years or miles.
They said when the warranty comes through, they will do the software upgrade and reimburse me for the battery.
