Fleets don't buy off the lot, so you're not replying to what I said.
Some do. As a previous fleet buyer I know this first hand. Not every new vehicle is special ordered for fleets. Sometimes you take what is available.

And which dealer are you aware of that has a dozen fleet white Maverick XLs available for immediate delivery?

At best, a fleet buyer today would pick up one or two here and there, just like the rest of us, likely not all the same color, let alone the standard white.

Does the tailgate of the XL not lock? Or it's just not powered.
I locks the old fashion way with a key! I did see a youtube about adding a motor for $25 to make it a power lock!

I went XLT then saw that not much more with XLT over XL but then saw more xlt's being built so I stayed at XLT. If I thought I could switch to an XL and still get it I might switch to an XL, But since I have no clue I will stay with XLT.
I had the same thoughts. There are far more XLTs planned.

Plus in other Ford trucks I have owned over the years, the XLT seats are usually substantially more comfortable than the XL seats. I haven't been able to do a comparison with the Maverick, but it was a consideration.

Since I ordered a Hybrid on the next to last day of the open order week, I seriously doubt that I will get a MY23 Maverick built anyway.

I went with the XLT for a few reasons like FX4, Keyless-Entry Keypad, power lock on the tailgate. The improved chances of getting it vs an XL in the next 12 months is also a bonus.

The problem with your plan here is that the XL is a constraint. It will account for only 15% of all builds. An XLT has a much higher chance of being built - they will make up 59% of all MY23 builds.
I have never seen any word that XL is a constraint, just that it was the actual ordering history of the three variants. It would make no sense that a version specifically ordered to avoid the actual supply chain restraints would be capped when it could actually be built and shipped. Do you have any evidence that Ford has put a restraint on the XL?

Yes, Ford has stated for MY2023, XL models will only be 15% of total production.

It makes perfect sense why Ford would cap off the XL. The margins on the XL are too low. They get a higher margin by building and selling the XLT and Lariat trims.

Well like many before me, I’ll wait and see. I’ve been waiting since February to order mine and was fifth in line on the first day the orders opened and was the first to get my order imputed by the sales manager. Got my confirmation the following day, so………. I shall see if my timing is advantageous.

Did you order a 2023? Or are you still waiting on a 2022 order? If you didn't get a VIN yet, then you had to order a 2023.

Is it worth the extra $2200? I ordered base xlt but now that the build and price is up I am not sure its worth the extra $2200. The main reason I got the xlt was for aluminum wheels and cruise control. Also thought it would have heated seats and steering wheel but I do not see that as standard. What are your thoughts on this
TIA Mitch
I think the XL is the better buy and I don't mind the steel wheels either. Only problem is that Ford will only produce 15 percent of the XL model.
