"Bad order" railcar

There was another thread on this from all the way back in December, so I thought it'd be better to start a new one.

I've been tracking my truck via CSX since it shipped from the factory on the evening of 10/06. It was moving along great until it hit Tucson, AZ on the evening of 10/08. It has been "bad ordered" since then. From my research, it looks like this happens when there is a mechanical problem with the railcar. Anyone else who has been tracking there's, or when you did track it, did this ever happen to you? Just hope it doesn't sit for two weeks or something in this condition.

Maybe it changed rail companies? When I tried CSX, it kept saying it was unloaded about 2 weeks before mine even left the factory. It was in NS‘s system and I tracked it from there the entire time. So I would try the other rail company numbers.

At one point mine was “in maintenance” for a few days.

Thanks! I tried Union Pacific last night, it wasn't in their system. I'll try NS today.

It sounds like Bad Order cars are a decently common occurrence, so hopefully this is just a small delay on my trucks journey to the Mitten!

Could very well be a minor mechanical issue. A lot of energy involved in rail. But that industry has a pretty decent system to get cars moving again. Parked cars aren't making money.

My railcar never even updated and it was just delivered yesterday LOL it kept saying this Mexican train company and just never updated locations or nothing during the whole transit

Exactly my thought too! They definitely don't want to have cars just sitting around. Fingers-crossed it gets moving soon.

Update:

I called the CSX tracking line at 2:15 EDT today (10/13), it now says it has been "released by the customer." The timestamp for that was 9:17 AM today (10/13). Unsure what that means. At least it's not in "bad order" status now!

Means the brakes were fixed.

Just need a train to pick it up.
