My dealer professed that he couldn't see a railcar number, but sent me a screenshot of VinView to let me see the map showed it just South of Las Vegas. Then I went to Ford Chat and they told me the last record she had was Nogales, AZ, at the border. When she asked if she could do anything else for me at the end of the chat, I casually asked her if she knew the railcar number and she gave it to me (I think there is a 25% chance of having someone on Ford Chat actually give you the number).

However, my having the Union Pacific Railcar number doesn't seem terribly useful.

Yesterday, the automated system told me the railcar had been loaded at 12:31 PM, 2/15/23, Origin ramp "CD Industrial". ETA 9:00AM 2/20/23. (I know it is headed to Denver, but the system gave me no locations for either beginning or end.)

I *think* "CD Industrial" may refer to where it was picked up ORIGINALLY by UP in Nogales, because I checked this morning and it said it was loaded at 9:00 AM, 2/16/23, and then it restated "Origin ramp CD Industrial". ETA 9:00AM 2/20/23.
I just checked again and this time it said it was loaded at 5:28 PM, 2/16/23, "Origin ramp CD Industrial". ETA 9:00AM 2/20/23.

So the only thing I think I am really learning is that there hasn't been any ETA changes. I thought I knew the path to be Nogales->Mira Loma, CA->Valley (N. Las Vegas, NV)->Roper (So. Salt Lake City) -> Rolla (Denver), but the information is confusing when there are no locations given on the UP tracker. CSX thinks the car was "Released" in January, I think in Mira Loma.

You may have better info on your side of the country.

Well, my Mav is still moving in generally the right direction - just seems to be taking a long time. At about 7.5 days since it left the plant in Hermasillo. Next stop would seem to be Kansas City. I'm fully expecting it to sit there at least a week after looking at the collection of rail yards. The railcar has been on UP up to this point, but I suspect it will get handed over to BNSF (a guess) for the trip further east. Final destination is Wayne, MI and then it will probably sit another week waiting for a transporter to bring it to my dealer.

Update on my rail car tracking - it didn't stop in Kansas City as I expected. Went straight through to East St. Louis where it was handed over to CSX. I fully expected it to spend some time wherever the hand-off took place, but it appears that it is back on the move. The railcar is now in Indianapolis, and I have a delivery date of 2/27 at RAMP ONE in Wayne, MI. That leaves only about 150 miles to my dealer by transport. Just cannot see how that will take a month - FORD tracker has the 'estimated delivery' window starting on 3/26! Do I dare start getting some hope that it will get here early?

They have to give an estimated window because they can't predict several conditions - time for crew changes, sitting on sidings waiting for higher priority trains, picling up/dropping other railcars, how long the rail car sits at the rail head waiting to be unloaded, how long it sits there waiting for a transport truck, weather. I've seen vehicles sit waiting 3 weeks for a transport. Ford has zero control over it once it leaves the plant.

I call the automated rail service once a day. This morning, I got another "departed" date and time of 2/22/23 (today) at 8:44AM. No idea where it departed from tho.
My main concern is the ETA in Denver. Since 2/18, it has stayed at 2/23/23 at 9:00AM. It started out with a 2/20/23 ETA last week, but moved to 2/23/23.

My dealer says his VinView still shows a 2/25/23 ETA. For once, I'm not in a big hurry...we have at least a foot of snow on the ground right now. I'd like a 3/1/23 delivery so I don't have to pay February registration...we go by month, not day, here. I'm just happy to know it is this close.

which rail company got your maverick?
When my was shipped from Mexico(the factory) it had TTGX 698720
But next line is saying "Received at Junction Point (Union Pacific Rail Road), Nogales, AZ"
When I called the rail company nothing is giving me the accurate info. One is saying its in NY.
One is saying its from January 2023 rail.
My dealer is in the greater LA, California - so I am super confused.

Also no update since Feb 16 ("Received at Junction Point (Union Pacific Rail Road), Nogales, AZ")

I don't even know which rail company to call anymore to follow up. & I dont think my maverick in on TTGX 698720 either?

That’s very interesting. Mine shipped from the plant on 02/12 headed to Chicago. I’m actually about 70 miles southwest of Indianapolis. I can’t make heads or tails of the UP data. Just departure times and ETAs. Have not been able to figure out locations.

Try the CSX tracking system - my railcar was on UP up to St. Louis and then it switched to CSX, but I was able to track it all the way from the plant on the CSX system. Automated system provided location and departure/arrival times. Once it was handed off to CSX in St. Louis I started getting estimated final destination dates/times.

Apparently the railcars get passed around. Mine is on Unon Pacific, and I think yours should be as well. I first tried one of the other rails, and was told that my railcar was emptied about 2 weeks prior in Mira Loma, CA. I knew that was wrong.

Union Pacific accurately reported the car's movement with my truck after the railcar was apparently sent back empty from Mira Loma to Nogales to get reloaded.

Try the UP number (1-800-877-5123) ...and be careful to enunciate the full car number. At least half the time, my TTGX railcar gets repeated back to me as CCTX or some other nonsense. You also have to say it quickly, or it will cut off listening for more numbers.

I will try to call them again! If I have any update, I will post here as well!
Thank you!

Mine took that same route only it was going to Florida. Train conductor never saw the Midwest before so he decided to use my train to do it...
