Be very careful if you order the Yakima bed rack for the Maverick from Ford's website.

I had a bunch of FordPass Reward points from having bought a Bronco Sport last year, and then a Maverick this year, so I decided to spend them on a few accessories.

The product description says it comes with HD cross bars, yet when they shipped it, they only shipped the towers, which are worthless without the cross bars. I checked all the shipping tracking numbers, and I've received all the packages they shipped. The order is marked 'Fulfilled'

No problem, I thought. I'll simply contact them Monday morning and I'm sure they'll send those missing cross bars right out. Well, not so fast. That's not how things work around Ford.

In order to get cross bars, I need to return the entire original order in the original packaging with all paperwork, and once they have received it, they will ship out a replacement. That's going to be tough since I burned the boxes this weekend. Plus, the parts I did receive are fine. There is no need to return them. All I need is the missing cross bars.

Yakima sells the exact same items on their website (for less, I might add), but they sell the towers and the cross bars separately. There is no way the cross bars would have fit inside the box with the towers, as they are separate products. Ford decided to sell them bundled, but evidently forgot to tell someone in the shipping department that an order consists of two components, not just one.

So here I am with some useless Yakima bed rack towers and no way to get the cross bars without buying them direct from Yakima. Ford doesn't even sell the bars separately.

I am absolutely furious with Ford's online chat system. They refused to escalate my issue to a supervisor, and merely referred me to my local Ford dealer. As if they have anything to do with online orders. The guy at the dealership at least said he would check and see what he could find out, which is far more than the online chat rep offered.

It looks like I may have to contest the charge on my credit card in order to get their attention.

I gotta say, it looks pretty stupid without the cross bars.

Had a similar experience with the bug screen/ hood protector. They sent me the lower less expensive one and said they could not refund the difference but would give me a credit for future purchases. I agree their customer service needs "work". I doubt I purchase anything again from them once I use the credit that I am owed.

Sounds like my experience with them. I ordered the Maverick sill guards And used my Ford points. They sent me Maverick tail gate letters. The sill guards were Over 100 bucks and the letters about 50. They told me to return the letters. So I shipped them off to Ford. 3 weeks later I got my pkg from Ford. I opened it and got the fucking tailgate letters back again! I assume the parts bin at the warehouse has the wrong part number on it. So I told them to cancel my order and refund my points. They told me to return the letters first. That was 2 months ago and 5 phone calls later. Each time they assure me that I will get my points back in a couple of days. At this point they can keep my 100 bucks and go have sex with themselves!

I'm having a real hard time with Ford parts customer service. I sent back an accessory and never got my $$ back. Talked to about 10 different agents, who all said someone will get back to you. I can never escalate over the phone or chat. Wrote letters, still nothing. About 5 months into it now.

I had the same issue today, ordered the sunscreen and the tailgate dampener, got the sunscreen but they sent me a thin plastic mat for a Ford Edge, got to send the mat back before they will send the dampener back....two weeks at least, very frustrating.

I'm wishing I had seen this thread before I ordered a bed mat and tailgate cover with points. They would have had to try hard to mess up the bed mat, it was bundled tightly, and it was only one piece. slapped a FedEx label on it, one and done.

I think I saw on another thread about missing parts for the tailgate cover. Yep. The shipper just pulled the part, slapped the FedEx label on, and shipped it in the original flimsy plastic film that it was housed in. No fasteners or instructions made the journey all the way from GA to NC.

In order to get the parts, I had to send back the cover to TX, (their FedEx label), wait for a credit, and then they would reship, so they say. Standing by, it's early days. The part was received at the returns depot yesterday.

After reading this thread, I should have kept the cover, and ordered the parts ($20) from the dealer. If they offer me a credit without a reship, I'll try to purchase through the dealer, if they take the points.

This is why I always pick up the website orders. I can just refuse to take delivery. This sounds like a night mare.
